These writings about the future are my own personal understanding. I only write what I sincerely and firmly believe to be true. But I am fallible, so the future may be somewhat different than I write. And you are fallible, so you might misunderstand something that I write. I know that these articles will be controversial, especially among devotees of Medjugorje or Garabandal. But I am convinced that this is the correct understanding of the secrets. Some of the details may turn out to be different than I describe, but the overall set of events, their order and timing, is, to my mind, certainly correct. Even so, this is mere human knowledge, since I have never received any private revelation myself. So take these words with a grain or two of salt.
I've now published my articles about the secrets in book form. The content is the same as in the online articles, so no need to buy the book unless you want a printed copy.

The Warning: When it will happen

The Warning is the same as the first secret of Medjugorje; this event is also called The Day of Repentance.
Why: To prepare the world for the first part of the tribulation, as described in the Book of Revelation (but the second part of the tribulation is in the distant future).
The Warning: What it is
It begins with an event in the sky. This event is not natural, but supernatural. This event is not the Warning itself. This event has no effect on nature or on the planet. This event is not a comet, nor an asteroid, nor any other natural event. The purpose of this event is to get everyone's attention, and to awaken anyone who is sleeping. It is very brief, even momentary. It has been said by Conchita that this event begins with the letter 'A'. I believe that the 'A' stands for Angel, because this is not a natural event, and because God often makes use of His Angels to herald His Divine Acts.
Everything will stop during the brief time needed for the Warning (minutes, not hours).
Electronics and vehicles will not function, except in cases of necessity.
People who are asleep will be awakened for it.
The Warning is entirely supernatural.
Each person will find themselves alone in their mind and heart with God.
God will touch each person's soul.
God will speak to each person's soul in a way that is fitting to the uniqueness of each individual.
God will speak to each person's conscience within the limits of their own knowledge and experiences.
People will understand their sins and the negative consequences of their sins.
Every single human person on earth without exception will experience the Warning.
Every single human person on earth will be offered grace and mercy directly from God.
Even prenatals in the womb will be touched by God. Though they have no personal sins to be brought to mind, they will be given blessings of grace to prepare them for the great difficulties of the world into which they will be born, especially the gift of God's grace to strengthen them against sin (but they will not be sinless).
For most persons, those who are old enough to understand right from wrong, the Warning will take the form of an awakening of the conscience, making that person aware of the sins in their lives and their own sinfulness in general. God will offer all sinners the gift of repentance and of conversion from sin, as well as grace and mercy more generally.
For those who are holy, and for those who have thoroughly acknowledged their sins, have been forgiven, and have done much penance, the experience will be different. For them, their sorrow will be at the suffering of Christ on the Cross for the sins of mankind, much more than the sorrow that they will have for their own sins. They will join with Christ in His loving sorrow for the sinfulness of the world.
Those who are evil will no longer be able to hide behind excuses for their sins; they will no longer be able to half-deceive themselves; they will know full well that what they are doing is evil. People often lie to themselves, telling themselves that what they are doing is right, when they know in their heart of hearts that it is wrong. But at the Warning, these lies will be exposed; there will be no place to hide from the truths of one's conscience at the time of the Warning.
Some great sinners will repent greatly. But many great sinners will continue in their evil deeds, with a much clearer realization that they have chosen evil over good. By rejecting this gift of repentance, and by deliberately choosing to continue sinning, despite a very full knowledge that what they are choosing is evil, they will commit an actual mortal sin and will become much more thoroughly evil themselves. The fallen angels will concentrate their efforts on such persons, with whom they will have greater influence than before.
Actual Mortal Sin
Be advised that anyone who rejects the gift of repentance on the Day of the Warning is necessarily committing an actual mortal sin, because the Warning carries with it a clarity of heart and mind to such an extent that only by an act of full deliberation and full knowledge can one reject God's extraordinary call to repentance from sin. The call to repent from sin on the day is a very grave matter, so deliberately and knowingly rejecting it is an actual mortal sin.
The Warning: What it is not
Be Advised: there are numerous false visionaries and other persons who are promoting false ideas about the Warning!
The Warning has its limits.
It will not reveal all knowledge about religion or about morals.
It will not make all non-Catholic Christians realize that Catholicism is the truest form of Christianity.
It will not make all non-Christians realize that Christianity is the truest form of religion.
It will not give the very young the understanding of adults.
It will not speak to each person beyond the limits of their own knowledge, understanding, and experiences.
It will not provide people with a complete understanding of wrong and right.
It will not provide people with a complete understanding of their entire life.
It will not show each person their entire life.
It will not show each person the good things that they have done in their life.
It is restrained by the limits inherent to each person's mind and heart and life.
Each person will not see their soul as God sees it.
The Warning is not the end of the world.
The Warning is not an immediate precursor to the end of the world, nor does it herald the Return of Christ.
The end of the world is not for this generation, nor for the next, nor for the next, nor until centuries afterward.
The Antichrist is not in the world today, and he will not be born for several centuries.
The Warning: Individual Reactions
All human souls will be touched by God in some manner pertaining to sin and grace.
Many people will become holier and less sinful.
Many people will repent.
Many will continue in this repentance, reforming their lives and seeking God.
Many others will quickly relapse, falling back into sin, perhaps even into worse sins.
Some will reject the Warning so thoroughly that they will become very much more sinful than ever before.
Some persons will try to ignore or forget the Warning by indulgence in worldly pleasures. God will hold this sin against them for the rest of their lives.
Some will be so afraid of having to face their own sins, mortal sins lived unrestrainedly for many years, that they will respond by taking their own lives. Suicide is not the answer, for after death, these persons will again have to face the sins of their lives and the consequences for their sins. Those who commit suicide will be severely punished either in Purgatory or in Hell.
Many people will be struck by an overwhelming fear, confused as to what happened, not knowing who to listen to for an explanation of the event. Some persons will be so fearful that they will die of fright.
The number dead from suicides and from fear will not be insignificant. It will be a very sharp increase in the number of deaths from these causes at that time.
False Repentance
Beware of persons who attempt to feign repentance outwardly, when inwardly they have completely rejected God!!!
Some persons who experience the Warning will reject this merciful offer of repentance and forgiveness. But, when they see many persons around them repentant and seeking holiness, they will pretend to do the same. Some of these false penitents will be politicians, some journalists, some celebrities, some members of the clergy and religious life, some lay persons with leadership roles, and some will be persons who might not seem to have any serious sins from which to refuse to repent. Very many mortal sins within humanity are hidden deep within the human person. So, beware of wolves in sheep's clothing!!! They will feign repentance in order to obtain or to maintain roles of leadership in society and in the Church, or for other reasons.
Group Reactions: The Church
The aftermath of the Warning will have profound effects on the Church, the world, families, and individual lives. It will change the course of the history of the human race and of the Church.
The Church will become suddenly holier, and will continue to increase in holiness. The transfiguration of Christ was a foreshadowing of this event, whereby the Church will be transfigured. But the transfiguration of the Church only begins with the Warning; it is not yet completed at this time; and so there will still be many problems in the Church. The completion of this transfiguration, at least for this generation, occurs many years later at the time of the three days of darkness.
The Church on earth is comprised of sinners; some of those sinners are very sinful and are harming the Church. The Warning will remove many sinful persons from the Church: some will die; some will reject the Church because they reject the gift of repentance offered by the Warning; some will be rejected by the faithful after the Warning because sincere repentance allows them to understand who is a true disciple of Christ, and who is not.
In the days and weeks after the Warning, very many persons will flock to the Catholic Church for guidance and for the forgiveness of sins in the Sacrament of holy Confession. Priests will be overwhelmed with the number of repentant sinners who want to confess. (Prudent Catholics will go to confession frequently in the months and weeks prior to the Warning!) Even non-Catholics will want to go to Confession. The lines for confession will stretch even out the doors of many churches. Only Catholics will know about this event in advance, and be able to explain its meaning, and be able to properly advise people as to how to be reconciled to God. Even Catholics who are not holy and not knowledgeable will be sought out by non-Catholics for whatever little guidance or knowledge they might be able to offer.
But not every problem in the Church will be solved by the Warning. The Warning will not bestow all knowledge or understanding of right and wrong, even on holy persons. Christians will still disagree about beliefs and practices. Many repentant persons will eventually slip back, some slowly, some quickly, into their old sins, or into even worse sins. And the increase in holiness among the faithful will cause some barely-practicing Catholics and some non-practicing Catholics to soon fall away from the Church. For they will not be able to keep up with the quick advancement in holiness that the Church will make, beginning at this time.
Pope Benedict XVI's Reaction
The Warning will occur during the reign of Pope Benedict XVI. This Pope is mentioned in Sacred Scripture in a hidden way. The transfiguration of Christ was a foreshadowing of the Warning. Peter said to Jesus, after His transfiguration: "Lord, it is good for us to be here. If you are willing, let us make three tabernacles here, one for you, one for Moses, and one for Elijah." (Mt 17:4). In this way, Peter foreshadowed Pope Benedict XVI, who will respond to the Warning by suggesting that three places of worship (tabernacles) be established in Jerusalem: one for Christianity, one for Judaism, and one for Islam, that is, a Church, a Temple, and a Mosque. And that all three religions worship God together in peace, with the city of Jerusalem as an example to the world of peace between religions.
Now the Gospel of Mark comments on Peter's words: "For he did not know what he was saying. For they were overwhelmed by fear." (Mk 9:5). The Pope suggests these three tabernacles because the world will be overwhelmed by fear in response to the Warning, and because they will seek answers to this event, each in his own religion.
But the Pope's suggestion will not happen for many years. Instead there will be war. And not until after the first part of the tribulation will there be three places of worship in Jerusalem for the three religions (Christianity, Judaism, Islam); and not until then will there be a yearly celebration, at the same time of year, for worshipers from all three religions to worship together in peace in the city of peace.
There are already places of worship in Jerusalem, of course. But the three places that will be built will be three very important centers of worship. The Jews will be the first ones to build it; in 2009 they will decide to build the Third Temple of Jerusalem, but it will take a number of years to build (about seven years). It will incorporate the Wailing Wall, and will necessitate the destruction of the Dome of the Rock Mosque. Next, years later, the Catholic Church will build a chief place of worship in Jerusalem, which will become the center of worship for the Church worldwide. (The center of authority in the Church will move from Rome during the first part of the tribulation, but will return to Rome in the year 2040.) This Church will most likely be built (or at least completed) soon after the first part of the tribulation is completed. Lastly, an important Mosque will be built at Jerusalem, finally replacing the Dome of the Rock Mosque, but in another location. So the building of the three places of worship in Jerusalem will be in the same order as the establishment of the three religions.
After the first part of the tribulation is completed with the three days of darkness in early 2040, then Catholic Christianity, Judaism, and Islam will be the only religions on earth. No other religion will have any significant following, other than Catholic Christianity, Judaism, and Islam.
Group Reactions: Families
Some families will be torn apart, because some family members accepted repentance and conversion, changing their lives very substantially, while other family members refused to repent or to change.
Some persons will be rejected by their peers, for being a good person among unrepentant sinners, or vise versa. Some circles of friends will fall apart because of different reactions to the Warning. Some persons who committed mortal sins together will no longer be able to stand the sight of one another, because it reminds them of their sins.
Children will generally accept the Warning and benefit from it greatly. In this way, God will prepare them for the difficult years ahead, and build a holy generation to live after the end of the first part of the tribulation. Prenatals in the womb will benefit from this experience, being given grace to assist in avoiding sin in the future (but they will not be sinless).
The Warning will be particularly difficult for those who have willingly had an abortion, or who encouraged others to have an abortion. These persons will realize the horror of their own decisions to end an innocent life. They will be inconsolable.
Group Reactions: non-Catholics
The Warning will not cause all Protestants to realize that Catholicism is the truest form of Christianity. However, many will begin to feel an attraction to the Catholic Church and a call from God to convert to Catholicism. Some will convert at this time. But generally, at this time, the repentant Protestants will follow their own denomination's teachings, and especially the teachings of the Bible, more fervently. However, the Warning is like a seed planted in fertile soil (the Protestant faithful), which will later grow to bring about the repentance and conversion of all the Protestant Churches to Catholicism (in the late 2010's), and the unification of all Christian Churches in one holy Catholic Church (in the early 2020's).
The Orthodox will not all realize that Catholicism is the truest form of Christianity, truer even than the Orthodox faith. But some will convert at this time, and the Orthodox Churches will begin to move toward later unification with the Catholic Church.
The Jews who are devout and repentant will seek to be better Jews and better worshipers of God. Jews who are repentant will tend to favor the more conservative schools of thought within Judaism. Jews who practice the faith only nominally will be strongly rebuked by God at the Warning; some will repent and begin to practice their faith; others will fall away.
The Muslims who are devout and sincere in seeking God will accept repentance and conversion, becoming holier worshipers of God. They will not generally change to Christianity as a result of the Warning. But their respect for Jesus and Mary will deepen. Muslims who are not devout, but who merely use Islam as an excuse for violence, if they do not repent with great sorrow and penance, will become very much more sinful and more prone to violence. As a result, there will be conflict between the devout moderate Muslims and the violent extremist Muslims.
Atheists and agnostics will realize that there is a God. Persons who have forgotten or stopped caring that there is a God, (because they have been immersed in the secular world) will realize the importance of worshipping God. The sin of not worshipping God is one of the main sins about which the Warning will accuse the conscience of humanity. Some persons will try to fool themselves and others by attempting to explain away what happened. Some will offer absurd explanations. But everyone will know in their hearts that in truth there is a God.
The United States President's Reaction
The U.S. President at the time of the Warning will be, for better or worse, Hillary Clinton. Now I am not going to judge her soul, or her heart, by saying whether or not she will sincerely repent in response to the Warning. But I know that very many persons in the U.S. will repent sincerely, including many who once had an abortion, or who supported abortion. A clear majority of the nation will very quickly become pro-life. President Hillary Clinton will also change her mind and become pro-life. Perhaps she becomes pro-life out of sincere repentance, or perhaps, seeing the nation suddenly become pro-life, she will change her mind out of political expediency. I do not know which reason will motivate her (perhaps some of both).
Political Changes
Most nations will become pro-life, in other words, a majority of their citizens will turn against abortion because of the Warning. If some few nations fail to achieve this advancement in morality (becoming a nation where most citizens are pro-life), then woe to those nations! They will soon be severely punished, for the tribulation is about to begin!
There will be an attempted backlash, because of the Warning,, against those who sincerely repent. Some persons in the media will attempt to ridicule or explain away this event (even though they themselves experienced it). They will even attempt to blame the Church, or to blame the devout faithful. But such a large number of persons will accept this gift of repentance that they will not succeed in this attempted persecution of the devout faithful.
Some prominent persons, and some ordinary persons, will feign repentance, and some will even feign conversion, when they see that so many persons have themselves repented. Some politicians and some celebrities and some media personalities and some religious leaders will feign repentance, when inwardly they have rejected this gift from God, turning away from good toward evil. Beware of false repentance in those days!
Politicians will change their stance on various issues related to morality, some out of true repentance and some out of political expediency, since they see that most voters are now against certain types of immorality. Beware of wolves in sheep's clothing, even in the Church. Some Church leaders, including perhaps a small number of Bishops or Cardinals, will feign repentance so as not to lose their power and their role in the Church. Some false prophets and some insincere evangelists will also feign repentance.
Just as most citizens in most nations will turn against abortion, realizing that it is a serious offense against God, so also will most citizens of most nations turn against homosexuality and various kinds of sexual immorality, realizing that these are serious offenses against God. If some few nations fail to achieve this advancement in morality (becoming a nation where most citizens are against homosexuality and sexual immorality), then woe to those nations! They will soon be severely punished, for the tribulation is about to begin!
The Upheaval
See the article on the First Secret of Medjugorje. The upheaval pertains to political and social changes in certain nations as a result of the Warning.
The Rise of Communism
See the article on Mistaken Ideas about the Secrets. Yes, there will be (and has been) a rise of communism, but it is spiritual communism, not political communism.
The World in General
The influence of the Warning on future world events is incalculable.
The Warning will bring many good people closer to God, and will bring even great sinners to repentance. It will also cause those who reject its gift of repentance to move away from God. To reject the gift of repentance on the day of the Warning is to reject God. A significant number of persons in the world will become more evil than ever before by rejecting this gift. Their will be a greater disparity between those who are holy and who seek God sincerely, and those who do whatever evil pleases them. This polarization will cause conflicts in families, in organizations, in nations, and in the world.
The Warning will also throw the world into a great fear. The vast majority of both good and bad persons will be caught unaware by this event, even though it will be announced in advance. Yes, even though its date is given in this set of articles, many persons still will be surprised and frightened by this event and by the depth of its penetration into their conscience and soul. Many persons will be terrified because their own sins have been laid bare. This confusion will be evident worldwide. Wicked persons, in particular will be very afraid, knowing that their sins have been rejected by God, knowing that they have chosen sin over God. But the faithful who knew about this in advance will have peace and true sorrow for sin.
This worldwide fear will calm somewhat with the second secret of Medjugorje, but since that secret is only given to those who accepted the earlier event of the first secret, that is, of the Warning, the unrepentant will be more confused and more afraid than ever at this next event. False Prophets
Many false prophets will continue their false preaching, even after the Warning. There are quite a few false prophets today who are preaching about the Warning, but with numerous distortions and falsehoods. After the Warning, many devout persons will more clearly discern the false prophets from the true ones. But many of the false prophets, especially the worst ones, will attempt to continue their false preaching. They will say that the Warning is a fulfillment of their prophecy (even though they stole the idea from Garabandal and then perverted it). They will try to use the Warning to continue to promote their false ideas.
Some of the errors that they will promote at this time are as follows:
Some false prophets will claim that now is a time of peace and holiness for the world, because repentance has resulted in the sufferings that God had planned being delayed or taken away. But this is not true. Soon there will be war and great afflictions, one after another, after another, for many years. I say again: the false prophets will tell you, at the time of the Warning (i.e. the Day of Repentance) and at the time of the Day of Consolation, that a time for peace has now arrived or will soon arrive. This claim is false; instead there will be war upon war, and affliction upon affliction, for many years.
Some false prophets already claim that now is the end of the world, and that the Antichrist is in the world, ready to work his evil. But this is not true. The Antichrist is not in the world today; his time is not until the distant future. And the so-called end of the world is very many years, many centuries, in the future also. So, when the Warning occurs, they will try to use that event to claim that the time has now arrived for all their various erroneous prophecies to begin. They will still continue to fool some of the weak and misguided in the world. But then, as the true events of the secrets, and of the first part of the tribulation in general, unfold before everyone's eyes, it will become clearer and clearer that their prophecies, and their messages, and their apparitions, and their signs and wonders are false.
Some false prophets will claim that the Warning is the fulfillment of their own prophecies, as if it proved that they are true prophets, instead of false ones. But if these false prophets mentioned the Warning previously, it was only because they stole the idea from Garabandal and other true private revelations. They never gave a single message that contained any specific information, other than what was already known, or what could be guessed or assumed, or what was vague and uninformative, or outright erroneous.
Beware of false prophets, who might try to steal information from these articles about the future, and then claim the same ideas as messages from Heaven, either telling the same information (as if they had now predicted it), or pretending to make inane and useless corrections, or meaningless amplifications, of this information.
Peace to You
Beware of false prophets, but listen to true ones.
"Do not be afraid, little flock; for it has pleased your Father to give you the kingdom." (Lk 12:32).
Be ever more peaceful in your souls and, by trusting in God, do not let these events disturb you.
The Miracle of Garabandal Explained

The Miracle: When it will happen

Liturgical Calendar: Feast of the Ascension
The Miracle is the same as the third secret of Medjugorje; this event is also called The Day of Healing.
The martyr of the Eucharist: Blessed Imelda Lambertini
The feast day of this martyr: She died on May 12th, but since her death occurred on the vigil for the Feast of the Ascension (May 13th that year), her feast day is May 13th. The apparitions of Fatima began on May 13th.
Reason for the Timing
Like the Warning, this event is a blessing from God intended to strengthen the Church and the faithful for the first part of the tribulation. At the point in time when the Miracle occurs, the first part of the tribulation will be imminent and will begin in the same calendar year.
The reason for the length of time from the Day of Repentance (the Warning, first secret) to the Day of Healing (the Miracle, the third secret) is so that people can reform their lives. It is not enough for you to repent at the first secret and to accept consolation from God at the second secret. You must continue along this same path to Heaven, continually repenting, continually converting, continually striving to imitate Christ. The one year and 33 days between the Warning and the Miracle is a time for people to reform their lives, to move away from sin, to pray, to practice self-denial, and to do works of mercy for persons in need (and there shall be great need during that time, especially spiritual needs).
The Miracle: When it will occur
The Virgin Mary said that the Miracle will occur on a Thursday, about 8:30 p.m. (Garabandal time) on the feast day of a martyr of the Eucharist, on a Thursday, coinciding with an event in the Church. Conchita has said that this martyr is not Jesus or Mary.
Conchita has said: “It will happen between the months of February and July and it will be between the 7th and the 17th, but I will not tell you which year.”
Conchita has also said that, after Pope John 23rd, there would be only three more Popes before the events predicted at Garabandal would begin. This is true, but often misunderstood. It does NOT mean that there will be only three more Popes ever; in fact, there will be many more Popes. After John 23, there was Paul 6, John Paul 1 and John Paul 2. Therefore, the events predicted at Garabandal will begin during the reign of the current Pope: Benedict 16.
Now some misguided but well-meaning persons have claimed that the Miracle will happen in April: this is not true. They drew this conclusion by putting together a series of different comments that Conchita allegedly made over the years, even though she expressly chose not to reveal the exact month. They drew an incorrect conclusion.
The martyr of the Eucharist is Blessed Imelda Lambertini. She was more of a martyr of the Eucharist than any other Saint or Blessed, because she died out of love for the Eucharist. The cause of her death was not someone killing her while she defended the Eucharist, nor was it someone killing her because she was a Christian (as in other martyrdoms). She died at the tender age of eleven years upon receiving her first Communion. She went into such a state of ecstasy, out of love for Christ Present in the Eucharist, that her soul separated from her body, causing her death (this can only occur when God wills it). Before her death, Blessed Imelda said: “Tell me, can anyone receive Jesus into his heart and not die?”
She died at age 11 upon receiving her first Communion on the day of the vigil (May 12th) of the Feast of the Ascension (May 13th, 1333). She was not supposed to receive her first Communion at that time, because she was too young. But, as she was in prayer before the Eucharist on May 12th, a miraculous light from Heaven shone down upon her, and a host was seen suspended in the light above her head, and so the chaplain wisely chose to give first Communion to her. She then went into a mystical ecstasy and died out of love for Jesus in the Eucharist. She has been named patroness of first communicants by Pope Pius X.
Reasons why she is the martyr of the Eucharist mentioned in the messages of Garabandal:
1. She was martyred as an eleven year old girl; the visionaries of Garabandal were all girls of about 11 or 12 years of age at the time of the apparitions.
2. She is perhaps the greatest martyr of the Eucharist, next to the Virgin Mary, having died purely out of devotion to the Sacrament.
3. She died on the vigil of the Feast of the Ascension. God wishes these events of the Warning and the Miracle to coincide with events in the liturgical calendar, so that these events lead people to the Catholic Church and not away from it. (The first three secrets of Medjugorje, and also the much later three days of darkness, are all in harmony with the liturgical calendar.)
4. Her feast day falls within the months and days given by Conchita.
5. The Miracle occurs on a Thursday; she died on the vigil of Ascension Thursday in 1333. In most years her feast does not coincide with Ascension Thursday. But in the year 2010, her feast day again coincides with the Feast of the Ascension.
6. Her death on the vigil of the Feast of the Ascension, as a martyr for the Eucharist, shows us that, even though Christ ascended to Heaven on that day, He still remains with us in the Eucharist. The Miracle also is a sign of the same idea, that Christ is still present among us, though He sits at the right hand of the Father in Heaven.
7. Even though she died on May 12th, her feast day is May 13th, the same day as the first apparition of the Virgin Mary at Fatima.
8. She died in 1333, a mystical number which indicates the Most Holy Trinity (three yet one).
9. Her feast day, May 13th, again indicating the Trinity as three yet one.
10. Her feast day, May 13th, is one year and 33 days after the Warning.
11. She is the patroness of fervent first Communions, meaning that the Church has given her a special role concerning the Eucharist.
12. According to an article by Gabriel Garnica in the Oct-Dec 2004 issue of Garabandal Magazine, the Pines at Garabandal were planted to commemorate the first communions of children; Blessed Imelda is the patroness of first communions. [#12 added on 11 April 2007]
An Event in the Church
Conchita has said that the Miracle will coincide with an event in the Church, one that has happened a few times in the past, but not since Conchita was born (she was born in 1949): “It is a singular event in the Church that happens very rarely, and has never happened in my lifetime…. It will happen on the same day as the Miracle, but not as a consequence of the Miracle, only coincidentally.”
I believe that this event is the canonization of a Pope, specifically, the canonization of Pope John Paul II. As Conchita says, this event is only coincidental to the event of the Miracle. However, the date of a canonization is generally announced well in advance. So, for some persons, this may serve as a confirmation of the date of the Miracle. The date of this event is therefore May 13th of 2010.
Will There Be A World War?
The Virgin Mary told Conchita that there will never be a world war, that there will be wars between countries, but not a global conflict.
It is true that no war will ever involve the whole world, neither in our generation, nor even when, in the early 25th century, the Antichrist comes to power. However, World Wars 1 and 2 are still called world wars, even though they did not involve the whole world. And Scripture clearly describes extensive wars that have not yet occurred, for example: in the Book of Daniel, chapters 8 and 11, and in the Book of Revelation, the first and sixth of the Seven Seals. Therefore, there will be a war correctly called World War 3, and another war correctly called World War 4, even though these will not be completely worldwide in scope.
Also, because the Virgin Mary said that there would not be a truly global world war, there will be no world war that involves all of the superpowers (the U.S., Russia, and China). Some have suggested that such a conflict between those three superpower would be a part of the tribulation, but such is not the case. No such war between the U.S., China, and Russia will ever occur.
The Miracle: What it is
Conchita wrote: “It will be the greatest miracle that Jesus has performed for the world. There won't be the slightest doubt that it comes from God and that it is for the good of mankind.”
She has also said: “The sick who are present at the miracle will be cured and the sinners will be converted.”
But if this Miracle were confined to Garabandal, it would not be the greatest miracle, nor would it truly be for the whole world. Therefore, what is said to happen at Garabandal, the curing of the sick, will happen not only there, but throughout the whole world. Many people all over the world will be suddenly and miraculously healed by God, in every nation and in every part of every nation. This is truly the greatest miracle yet.
The Miracle is three-fold:
1. Very many (but not all) sick and injured persons (even those very severely afflicted) will be healed in their bodies throughout the world.
2. Very many unbelievers will be converted.
3. Many Permanent Signs will be left on earth at many locations of true apparitions of the Virgin Mary on earth.
1. The sick and injured will be cured.
a. Those present for the Permanent Signs
Those who are present in any location where any of the Permanent Signs are placed by God will be miraculously cured of any illness or injury, even very severe ones. There will be Permanent Signs at Garabandal, Medjugorje, and numerous other sites of true private revelation.
Those who are present will also be cured of illnesses of the soul or spirit, such as a lack of faith, or such as a spiritual obstacle to faith or holiness (e.g. if they are angry at God, or if there is a particular doctrine that they find themselves unable to accept). Such persons will be healed in body, spirit, and soul, so that they will believe, and so that the path to holiness will be opened up (but it is still the same difficult road to Calvary that we all walk).
Those present for one of the Permanent Signs will necessarily and certainly be healed, unless they are evil or are obstinately unwilling to cooperate with God's graces (for God never assaults our free will). Some few evil persons, both those openly evil and those evil but pretending to be good, who are present for one of the Permanent Signs, will drop dead by an act of God (cf. Acts 5:5 and 5:10), because they are obstinately unrepentant.
b. Those not present for the Permanent Signs
Of those who are not present in any location where one of the Permanent Signs is placed by God, many of these will still be healed. Out of those who are not present for one of the Permanent Signs, there is no way to know in advance who will be healed and who will not be healed. Some of those healed will be holy, others will be repentant sinners. The closer you are to God, the more likely you are to be healed. But some of the faithful will not be healed, whereas some unbelievers and some sinful members of the Church may be healed.
If someone has accepted the gift of repentance and of true sorrow for sin on the Day of Repentance (the Warning; the first secret), and has received the gift of consolation on the Day of Consolation (the second secret), and has since remained on the path to God, such a one as this, having some illness or injury from which he or she needs to be healed, will be much more likely to be healed by God on the Day of Healing (the Miracle; the third secret). But even some sinners who failed on those previous occasions may be healed, if they cooperative with God's grace to a very full extent.
If you are afflicted with a serious illness or injury, or a serious spiritual affliction, you should try to be present at one of the locations where a Permanent Sign will be given. But beware of false prophets, who will claim that a sign will be given where they are, but it will not be given, for they are false.
2. Unbelievers will be converted.
This miraculous healing includes a healing of the soul and spirit, as well as the body. For conversion is a healing of the soul.
Some will be converted because they are healed by God in body, spirit, and soul. Some will be converted because they are healed by God in soul (so that God removes some spiritual obstacle to their conversion). Some will be converted because they see others being miraculously healed by God. Some will be converted because they see the Permanent Sign and realize that it is of God. Some will be converted merely because they respond to God's grace with their free will, during this time of great graces.
The number and extent of these conversions and healings will be worldwide and truly astounding. Nearly everyone will know of someone (family member, distant relative, neighbor, friend, acquaintance) who was healed miraculously by God. The number of healings will be so many that they cannot be counted.
I warn you all: Not everyone will be healed! Do your best to convert! Do penance and pray and practice self-denial and do works of mercy and accept every teaching of the Catholic Church, before this event, beginning as soon as possible! Otherwise, you may find yourself cast aside by God because of your own freely chosen obstinacy!!!
3. Permanent Signs will be left on earth.
The Permanent Sign is something which has never before been seen on earth, which can be seen and photographed, but not touched. The Permanent Sign will be placed by God at the sites of many various true private revelations (but not all of them). These Permanent Signs will remain forever on earth. Neither the fallen angels, nor any human power, can remove these Signs. They will be irrefutable signs of the existence of God. (Future evil generations will cover them and deny their existence.) These Signs will remain until the very last day (in the very distant future), which is called Judgment Day, that is, the day of the general resurrection of the just and the unjust. These Signs are a reminder, not only that God exists, but that He will Judge us on the last day. (This last day is many centuries in the future.)
Since the Virgin Mary made a point of choosing a date which was related to a martyr of the Eucharist, even though this martyr died the day before the chosen date, the Permanent Sign must be somehow related to the Eucharist. Certainly the Permanent Sign is not merely the Eucharist, but it must be related to the Eucharist, so that it in some points out to the world the Most Blessed Sacrament, which gives life to the world.
IMPORTANT! There are many false claimed apparitions of the Virgin Mary and Jesus in the world today.
There will be NO Permanent Sign at any location associated with false claims of apparitions or messages from Jesus or Mary. Beware of false prophets who will try to encourage people to go to their sites of false private revelations, promising them many blessings if they go. But when the Miracle and Signs occur in other places, they will not occur at these false sites, and the people there will not receive the blessings promised to them by these false prophets. There will be no Miracle or Permanent Sign at any location of false private revelation. In this way, after the Permanent Signs are left on earth, it will become clearer as to which claimed private revelations (messages, apparitions, signs and wonders, etc.) are true and which are false.
Now certain true private revelations might not be given Permanent Signs, either because they have no location associated with the apparitions (such as those to Fr. Gobbi), or for some other reason. But beware of false private revelations which, after they do not receive a Permanent Sign, make all kinds of excuses as to why they did not receive it.
Now for those of you who were not healed by God in the Great Miracle of Healing, there is a second chance for you. Some few persons will be healed by God after the Miracle, if they are repentant and prayerful and practice self-denial and are merciful to others, and if it is God's will, when they make a pilgrimage to one of the sites of the Permanent Signs.
More About The Permanent Signs
Conchita (one of the visionaries of Garabandal) has said:
“A sign of the miracle, which it will be possible to film or televise but not touch, will remain forever at the pines.”
Garabandal is one of the locations of true private revelation where there will be a permanent sign. At Medjugorje, the Virgin Mary gave a message about the permanent sign of the third secret there, saying:
“This sign will be given for the atheists. You faithful already have signs and you have become the sign for the atheists. You faithful must not wait for the sign before you convert: convert soon. This time is a time of grace for you. When the sign comes, it will be too late. As a mother I caution you because I love you. The secrets exist. My children! Nothing is known of these now, but when they are known, it will be too late. Return to prayer, nothing is more important than this. I would like it if the Lord allowed me to reveal some of the secrets to you, but that which He is doing for you is already a Grace which is almost too much.”
It has also been said at Medjugorje that the permanent sign will be beautiful and indestructible, remaining until the end of the world. It will be something that has never before been in this world. The sign will be at Apparition Mountain, in Medjugorje, where Mary first appeared.
Now I do not know what the permanent sign will be; for it is not of this world and I have never received any private revelations myself. However, I can tell you that the permanent sign will occur at numerous other places around the world where the Virgin Mary has appeared. The permanent sign of Garabandal and of Medjugorje are the same kind of sign, occurring on the same day, along with the other permanent signs of the true private revelations.
The permanent sign of Garabandal is not the Miracle itself, only a sign left after the Miracle. Similarly, the permanent sign of Medjugorje is not the third secret, but a sign left after the third secret. The Miracle and the third secret are the very same worldwide event.
The permanent sign will not appear at places where persons falsely claim that the Virgin Mary has appeared. There are numerous false claims of private revelation in the world today. Some of these are due to deliberate human deception, but most are due to the action of fallen angels, appearing to certain persons in the form of Jesus or Mary or other heavenly persons. The Warning will have corrected many persons who had been deceived by these false prophets. But some persons will persist in their sins of supporting these false private revelations and their false prophets. Some might even try to claim that a permanent sign will appear at the site of their false private revelations; or they might make excuses as to why such a sign will not appear at their sites. When the permanent sign occurs at the sites of numerous different true private revelations around the world, most people will lose interest in these false private revelations.
Does the Miracle Occur Within 12 Months of the Warning?
No. The Miracle occurs one year and 33 days after the Warning.
The visionaries have said that many people will lose their confidence in the apparitions and message of Garabandal prior to the Miracle. Notice that they say 'prior to the Miracle,' not prior to the Warning. It is already evident that many Catholics, even those who believe in Medjugorje, do not believe in Garabandal. But this is not the predicted disbelief; rather, it is that, between the Warning and the Miracle, many will lose their trust in Garabandal. I think one reason is the claim, based on statements from the visionaries, that the Miracle will occur within 12 months after the Warning. When 12 months pass and the Miracle has not yet occurred, many will lose confidence in Garabandal.
This misunderstanding of the length of time between the Warning and the Miracle is permitted by God as a test of faith. When the Miracle does not occur within 12 months of the Warning, then the weak in faith and the unbelievers will turn aside. God required true and lasting faith of us, not a transient faith that is too weak to stand without constant signs and miracles.
Now Conchita knows the date of the Miracle, but she cannot reveal it until 8 days beforehand. And she does not know the date, or even the year, of the Warning. Mari Loli knows the year of the Warning, but not the date or year of the Miracle. In one place, she says that these two events occur in the same year, but in another place, she says that they occur within a year. She has also said that she does not know if they occur in the same calendar year. So, she does not know the date of either event, only the year of one event. She therefore cannot know if they occur within 12 months of one another. Her only source for this claim is that the Virgin Mary told her something like this, but she cannot remember the exact wording, for she was only about 11 or 12 at the time (in the early 1960's).
I believe that Mari Loli was told by the Virgin Mary something like: that there will be 12 months between the Warning and the Miracle, or that the Miracle occurs the next year after the Warning. But then Mari Loli misunderstood. The Miracle occurs in the next calendar year after the Warning, (which is also the next liturgical year) and there are 12 full calendar months between the month that contains the Warning and the month that contains the Miracle.
The Church teaches that God is infallible. But the Church also teaches that true private revelation from God is fallible. So where does this fallibility in true private revelation come from? Not from God. It comes from the fallibility of the one receiving the private revelation. There are known instances of Saints and Blesseds, in their adult years, misunderstanding a true private revelation from God or from Mary. So it is entirely possible that four girls of about 11 or 12 year of age might misunderstand some of the things that were said to them. And God does not generally correct this kind of misunderstanding in true private revelation, lest true private revelation, becoming error-free, might undermine the three pillars of the teaching of the Church: Tradition, Scripture, Magisterium.
Here is a test of both faith and wisdom. If you have both faith and wisdom, you may know the dates and events of the secrets of Medjugorje and Garabandal well in advance. But if you are lacking in either or both, you will not know what to believe, and you will not have the confidence to sustain even what you think is true.

The Chastisement of Garabandal
Conchita (one of the visionaries of Garabandal) has said that the Chastisement will be due to the direct intervention of God, that is, not due to human action, and not due to natural disaster.
Therefore, the Chastisement prophesied at Garabandal is not any of those particular chastisements from God which are the result of human action and which are mentioned in the book of Revelation as the first Six of the Seven Seals, namely:
1. World War 3 (the first Seal; the fourth secret of Medjugorje)
2. the severe civil unrest and violence (the second Seal; the fifth secret)
3. the great famine (the third Seal; the sixth secret)
4. death from a variety of causes - one cause has been taken away due to prayer (the fourth Seal; the seventh secret)
5. the martyrdom of many Christians (the fifth Seal; the eighth secret)
6. World War 4 - a severe nuclear war (the sixth Seal; the ninth secret)
All of these things are largely the result of sinful human action, under God's Providence. Therefore, none of these things is yet the Chastisement prophesied at Garabandal. These events are all chastisements, but they are not 'The Chastisement.'
Neither can the Chastisement be any of the first four Trumpets of the Seventh Seal, which are the result of human action and of natural disasters, namely:
7-1. pieces of a broken comet which fall to earth (the first Trumpet of the Seventh Seal; part of the tenth secret of Medjugorje)
7-2. one large piece of the same comet that falls into the ocean (the second Trumpet of the Seventh Seal; part of the tenth secret)
7-3. radioactive fallout from World War 4, which had mostly fallen already, but which is then stirred up and lifted up into the atmosphere by the falling pieces of the comet and by the one large piece of the comet, so that it falls again, this time to a much more widespread area, (all of which is the third Trumpet of the Seventh Seal; part of the tenth secret)
7-4. nuclear winter, which is caused by the nuclear war, and also by the extremely large number of fires caused by the falling pieces of the comet, and also by the one piece of a comet that fell into the ocean, and so lifted up fine particles into the atmosphere, thus all together reducing the light that reaches the earth causing a year-round winter, (which is the fourth Trumpet of the Seventh Seal; part of the tenth secret)
All of these things are attributable to human acts and their consequences, and/or to nature. Therefore, none of these things is yet the Chastisement prophesied at Garabandal. These events are all chastisements, but they are not The Chastisement. Also, it is said that when the visionaries of Garabandal were shown the Chastisement, they screamed out of fear; therefore, it is not a complex series of events, but one event.
7-5. Now let us consider the fifth Trumpet of the Seventh Seal (also part of the tenth secret of Medjugorje). This fifth Trumpet is perhaps due neither to human action, nor to natural disaster. It is described this way by Sacred Scripture (CPDV):
[Revelation 9]
{9:1} And the fifth Angel sounded the trumpet. And I saw upon the earth, a star that had fallen from heaven, and the key to the well of the abyss was given to him.
{9:2} And he opened the well of the abyss. And the smoke of the well ascended, like the smoke of a great furnace. And the sun and the air were obscured by the smoke of the well.
{9:3} And locusts went forth from the smoke of the well into the earth. And power was given to them, like the power that the scorpions of the earth have.
{9:4} And it was commanded of them that they must not harm the plants of the earth, nor anything green, nor any tree, but only those men who do not have the Seal of God upon their foreheads.
{9:5} And it was given to them that they would not kill them, but that they would torture them for five months. And their torture was like the torture of a scorpion, when he strikes a man.
{9:6} And in those days, men will seek death and they will not find it. And they will desire to die, and death will flee from them.
{9:7} And the likenesses of the locusts resembled horses prepared for battle. And upon their heads were something like crowns similar to gold. And their faces were like the faces of men.
{9:8} And they had hair like the hair of women. And their teeth were like the teeth of lions.
{9:9} And they had breastplates like iron breastplates. And the noise of their wings was like the noise of many running horses, rushing to battle.
{9:10} And they had tails similar to scorpions. And there were stingers in their tails, and these had the power to harm men for five months.
{9:11} And they had over them a king, the Angel of the abyss, whose name in Hebrew is Doom; in Greek, Destroyer; in Latin, Exterminator.
Notice the unmistakable supernatural elements to this affliction. The affliction comes from the 'well of the abyss,' not from nature or mankind. The locusts do not eat plants, and they sting like scorpions, and they distinguish between those who have the Seal of the Living God (given out by Angels near or at the end of World War 4), and those who do not. The further description of this locust-like affliction makes it clear that this is not natural and is not man-made.
However, this suffering for the world is not the worst suffering of the first part of the tribulation. The locusts of this affliction do not kill. Many persons have the Seal of the Living God and so do not suffer from this affliction at all. Furthermore, this is not the last affliction for this particular time period and generation. Therefore, for all of these reasons, this chastisement is not The Chastisement prophesied at Garabandal.
Now the sixth Trumpet of the Seventh Seal (also part of the tenth secret of Medjugorje) is the last affliction for this generation. Then the seventh Trumpet is the last Trumpet of the Seventh Seal, which is the last of the Seals. This Trumpet is a set of events divided into the Seven Bowls of God's Wrath. However, all of these events of the Seventh Trumpet are reserved for the distant future, for the end of the Antichrist's reign, in the 25th century.
7-6. So the sixth Trumpet is the last great affliction for this generation.
The sixth Trumpet is that event often called The Three Days of Darkness. During this event one third of the human race will be killed; the number killed is about one third of the human race, in other words, approximately one third of those persons who have survived all the previous severe afflictions will be killed in those three days. Those previous afflictions combined, which will have occurred over a period of about 30 years, will have killed about another one third of the human race. Thus, by the end of the three days of darkness, the world population will be reduced by two-thirds, to about one-third of the number prior to the tribulation.
Notice that in three days time, about the same percentage of the world population is killed as in the previous 30 or so years. The severity of the three days of darkness is not to be underestimated.
{9:18} And one third part of men were slain by these three afflictions….
This affliction is not the result of human action, nor is it the result of any natural disaster. This affliction is the result of an act of God's Mercy and Justice, whereby He sends out His angels to kill one third of the human race. This affliction, called the Three Days of Darkness, also called the sixth Trumpet of the Seventh Seal, is The Chastisement prophesied at Garabandal.

The First Secret of Medjugorje

The Warning is the same as the first secret of Medjugorje; this event is also called The Day of Repentance.
Why: To prepare the world for the first part of the tribulation, as described in the Book of Revelation (but the second part of the tribulation is in the distant future).
What The First Secret Is
The First Secret of Medjugorje is exactly the same as the Warning of Garabandal, in other words, it is the Day of Repentance, when God touches each and every human soul on earth. Generally, this experience takes the form of an illumination of the conscience, revealing to each person their own sinfulness. For holy persons, or at least those who have thoroughly dealt with their own sins and sinfulness, it will take the form of true sorrow at the sufferings of Christ and at the sinfulness of others. For those souls not yet having reached the age of reason, i.e. young children, infants, and prenatals, it will take the form of grace to assist in avoiding sin (not that they will be sinless).
Good Friday was chosen by God as the Day of Repentance so that the world would realize, while repenting in sorrow for its sins, that Jesus Christ forgives those sins through His salvific death on the Cross. Good Friday was also chosen so that the holy faithful would have true sorrow, not only because of their own sins, but because of the suffering that Jesus Christ had to endure for the sake of everyone's sins. And this day was chosen so that the world would realize that all religions are not equal and that the Christian Faith is above all other religions, with Catholicism being the truest form of Christianity.
The First Secret of Medjugorje = the Warning of Garabandal = the Day of Repentance

Ten Days Before…
Mirjana said: “Ten days before the first secret and the second secret, I will notify Father Petar Ljubicic. He will pray and fast for seven days, and then he will announce these to the world”. Since the first secret occurs on April 10th, ten days before is March 31st; on that day, she will tell Fr. Peter the first and second secret. Then from April 1 to April 7, inclusive, he will fast and pray. Then on April 7th, three days before the first secret, he will reveal both the first and second secrets. (April 7th is the true historical date of the Crucifixion of Jesus Christ.) The first secret coincides with Good Friday, and the second secret coincides with Easter.
Now compare these dates at the beginning of the secrets to the dates at its end. The last event of the last secret is the three days of darkness, occurring on March 29, 30, and 31, which coincide in that year (2040 A.D.) with Holy Thursday, Good Friday, and Holy Saturday. The next day, April 1st and Easter Sunday, is the first day after the events of the ten secrets have been completed. So, the secrets begin with the days of preparation for the first secret March 31/April 1st, and the secrets end with the last day of the sufferings being March 31 and the first day after these events being April 1st. The total length of time is 31 years. The liturgical calendar days of Good Friday and Easter figure prominently at both the start and the end of the secrets.
Breaking the Back of Satan
It has long been known, having been revealed by some of the visionaries, that the first secret of Medjugorje would 'break the back of Satan.' Now some persons have incorrectly worded this as 'break the power of Satan.' The reason that the Warning is correctly said only to break the back of Satan, but not to entirely break his power, is that the Warning reduces his power significantly, but does not take away his power in the world completely. If the Warning (i.e. the first secret) had been said to break the neck of Satan, that would mean the loss of nearly all his power, since those who have their necks broken become nearly powerless. But instead the figure of speech is that the first secret will 'break the back of Satan.' Thus, Satan will lose a substantial amount of power over sinners, but not all power over all sinners.
Why does he suddenly lose so much power over sinners that it can truly be said his back is broken? Because so many sinners repent so thoroughly from their many sins, thereby moving much closer to God. Even many great sinners will repent greatly. Even holy persons will become holier. So Satan loses most of his influence over them, although he and the other fallen angels can still attempt to tempt sinners.
Why is it not correct to say that Satan loses all power over sinners at this time? Because a significant number of persons around the world reject this gift of repentance from sin, thereby moving further away from God and thereby becoming more susceptible to the temptation and influence of Satan and other fallen angels. In fact, the complete rejection of the gift of repentance on the day of the Warning is an actual mortal sin, which causes the loss of the state of grace in the soul.
The Upheaval
It has been said that the first secret of Medjugorje involves an upheaval in one part of the world. But this idea is not the first secret itself, but rather, one result of the first secret. The Warning (i.e. the first secret) causes changes in the world. One of those many changes is an upheaval in one area of the world.
This upheaval is a political and social upheaval, where evil persons, enraged and terrified by this blessed act of God in the first secret, and realizing that they are in danger of quickly losing power to good persons, gather all their supporters, and then fight to overthrow the nations in one particular area of the world, an area where evil is particularly strong: the Arab/Muslim nations of the Middle East and northern Africa.
These evil persons, these extremists, are not true devout Muslims who sincerely worship the One God; they are not even the moderate Arab/Muslims who are rather worldly and who seek to bring western ways to the Middle East. Many of these extremists use religion as a pretext for their rise to power, but they are not even sincerely misguided. They are deliberately choosing evil, and deliberately feigning religious devotion. However some number of these extremists are very worldly, and do not even offer the pretense of being devout.
The nations involved in this upheaval are Iran and Iraq and the other Arab/Muslim nations of the Middle East and northern Africa. In those nations, when the event of the first secret occurs, many persons will repent and seek God in true sorrow for their sins, including very many Muslims. However, a significant number of persons in that area of the world will instead reject this gift from God, which he does not force upon them; God shows them their own sinfulness, but the gift of repentance, they freely choose to reject. By rejecting so great a Mercy, they become so much more sinful than ever before, just as the Pharisees, in rejecting the true Messiah, became much more evil than before the Christ arrived.
These evil persons, newly spurred on by the terror of knowing their own sinfulness and by the fear that good persons might prevail in their nations, and also deeply enraged by this act of God itself, make a sudden concerted effort to take power in these nations. It is an act of fear and desperation. It is an act of deliberately choosing evil over good.
The upheaval consists of coups, insurrections, and outright war. If they cannot take over a nation's political and military power by coups and insurrections, then from those areas over which they do gain control in this way, they launch sudden attacks of warfare against the nations that they cannot capture internally. There is war and battles, chaos and killing, the disorganized and desperate acts of a loosely-knit group of persons bound by their rejection of God. It is an all or nothing gamble that they are taking. And they win. They succeed in conquering all of the Arab/Muslim nations of the Middle East and northern Africa, from Iran and Iraq, throughout the Middle East (but not the holy land of Israel).
This upheaval occurs in this particular area of the world because evil is strong there. Some fallen angels offer some impetus and assistance to these evil persons, but this upheaval is very much a surprise to the fallen angels, for they did not know when this event of the first secret would occur. The upheaval is not of demonic origin, even though fallen angels will generally try to encourage or cooperate with any evil on earth. Rather, the upheaval is the act of human persons who reject the gift of God to be sorrowful for sin and to repent, and who deliberately choose evil instead of good. They hope (against reason and faith) that gaining worldly power will keep them safe from this repentance from sin which so threatened them to the very core of their beings.
But, of course, they are not safe from the Justice of God. The Almighty will permit them a reign for a number of years, in order to rebuke those other nations, where many persons also either rejected the repentance offered by God, or, after accepting it, fell back into the same or worse sins. But, thereafter, they will be completely thrown down and defeated.
Yes, a significant number of persons worldwide will reject this gift of the first secret of Medjugorje, which is called the Warning. So while a very large number of persons repent and become closer to God, the number who reject this gift, and so move further away from God, is also large. If everyone were to repent on this day, then perhaps the rest of the sufferings would be averted or greatly reduced. But it is not to be so. Free will and the very wide acceptance of sin in the world results in a significant number of persons either rejecting this gift of repentance outright, or quickly falling away from the path of repentance afterward.
The upheaval will occur over just a few months, beginning and ending in the year 2009. By the end of that short period of time, extremists who have chosen evil over good, many of whom use the mask of religion to cover their sinfulness, will have taken power in all of the Arab/Muslim nations of the Middle East and northern Africa. Of these nations, all led by extremists, the leader of Iran and the leader of Iraq (whoever emerges as the leaders of those nations out of the upheaval) will have the most power and control and influence over the other nations of that group. One of these leaders will be a secular (military/political) leader; the other will claim to be a spiritual leader of some kind.
A common fear of goodness and a common evil purpose will unite these nations into one group very quickly. All this occurs in the year 2009.

The Second Secret: When it will happen

The second secret of Medjugorje is also called the Day of Consolation; it is not mentioned in the secrets of Garabandal.
Liturgical Calendar: Easter Sunday. The faithful Apostles were consoled on the first Easter Sunday by the Resurrection of Jesus Christ from the dead. The faithful who repented on the earlier Day of Repentance will be consoled on this Day of Consolation, which coincides with Easter Sunday.
Reason for this timing: To console the faithful who repented on the Day of Repentance (the Warning), and to heal and strengthen the heart and mind in preparation for the first part of the tribulation.
Relationship to the Warning
On the Day of Repentance (the Warning), many persons will repent from their sins, but many other persons will not repent. On the subsequent Day of Consolation, only those who repented on the earlier day of Repentance will be given this gift of consolation. Those who did not repent will not receive this gift: “so that you may know how miraculously the Lord divides the Egyptians from Israel.” (Ex 11:7)
The Warning (the Day of Repentance) reveals to each of us the bad that we have done in our lives, the vices and sins that are upon our soul. But the Day of Consolation reminds us that we are created by God, are made in the image of God, and are therefore good; it reminds us of the good that we have done in our lives (but it is not an illumination, like the Warning).
Notice that the Warning is given to everyone without any exception. God loves every person and He seeks the salvation of every person. However, based on the response to God's free gifts, some persons receive additional greater gifts, and others lesser gifts, and still others nothing at all. The Day of Consolation will be a cause for division, because the repentant receive it, but the unrepentant will not receive it and will resent not receiving it.
“So may our hope for you be made firm, knowing that, just as you are participants in the suffering, so also shall you be participants in the consolation.” (2 Corinth 1:7). Those who participate in the sufferings of the Warning by sorrowing over their own sins, will next receive consolation, to alleviate their sorrows. But as for those persons who reject the gift of true sorrow and true repentance from sin on the day of the Warning, they will not receive consolation. For in so far as you suffer with Christ on the Day of Repentance, so also shall you be consoled by Christ on the Day of Consolation. But if you reject Christ, you cannot be consoled by Him.
In the Biblical view, the human person is comprised of three parts: soul, spirit, body. But in the modern (religious) view, the human person is soul and body. So then, what is the spirit? The spirit is the breath of life that exists while body and soul are united in life, and which ceases to exist when body and soul are separated at death. The spirit of the human person is the quality of being alive; it is the interaction of body and soul. The spirit of a human person is not a thing, but a quality. When a human being dies, the spirit (the quality of being alive) ceases to exist. This interaction of body and soul is most evident in the mind and heart. For in the mind, a part of the body (the brain) and works together with the soul to understand and to know and to remember. And in the heart, body and soul work together to express will and emotion.
There are numerous passages in the Bible which refer to the human person as body, spirit, and soul:
[Genesis]
{2:7} And then the Lord God formed man from the clay of the earth, and he breathed into his face the breath of life, and man became a living soul.
[Wisdom]
{15:11} because he ignores the One who molded him, and who instilled in him a working soul, and who breathed into him a living spirit.
God molds the human body, and He gives the human person a soul and spirit. The spirit is the breath of life; it is the qualities associated with a body and soul working together; it includes ideas such as the mind and the heart. Although it is correct to say that the human person is body and soul, it is also correct to say that the human person is body, spirit, and soul, because the unification of body and soul produces the spirit, that is, the qualities associated with life and with the cooperation of body and soul.

{5:23} And may the God of peace himself sanctify you in all things, so that your entire spirit and soul and body may be preserved without blame at the advent of our Lord Jesus Christ.
[Hebrews 4]
{4:12} For the Word of God is living and effective: more piercing than any two-edged sword, reaching to the division even between the soul and the spirit, even between the joints and the marrow, and so it discerns the thoughts and intentions of the heart.

Those who participate in the sufferings of the Warning by sorrowing over their own sins, will next receive consolation, to alleviate their sorrow. This gift is granted by the mercy of God to all those who truly repented on the Day of Repentance (i.e. the Warning, which is the first secret).
The purpose of the first three secrets is to bless all the faithful, throughout the whole world, in soul, and spirit, and body, in order to prepare for the severe afflictions which will overwhelm the whole world during the first part of the tribulation. How could it be otherwise? Do you really think that God would afflict the whole world without first strengthening and preparing His people? Does not even an unjust master prepare his servants before sending them out into the fields, so that they will at least accomplish the tasks that he intends for them? Does not even an earthly father prepare his sons before sending them out on a difficult task? How much more will God our loving Father prepare all persons of good will throughout the world for the necessary tasks and afflictions that are about to overtake the human race.
The Warning is a blessing on the soul, the Day of Consolation is a blessing on the spirit, the Miracle is a blessing on the body. In this way, God gives three gifts to the world, and especially to the faithful of the world, to prepare and strengthen us, in soul, spirit, and body, for the tribulation which will, soon afterward, overwhelm the world.
The Day of Consolation
The Day of Consolation is a day of blessings from God on the minds and hearts of all those who repented on the Day of Repentance.
This blessing will have different effects depending on the uniqueness of each person. Some persons will have the blessing of the removal from their heart of some obstacle to holiness, such as a refusal to accept a truth, or a refusal to forgive someone, or a refusal to love more fully. Some persons will have the blessing of the clearing of their mind from some point of confusion or misunderstanding. Some persons will have certain emotional obstacles removed from their spirits, such as a constant sadness, or an inconsolable grief, or a lack of hope, or a lack of joy and cheerfulness, or a distaste for religion or for prayer. Some persons will be cured of mental illnesses of various kinds. Some persons will finally understand certain truths that they had been seeking and had been unable to reach; this will not be a direct infusion of knowledge, but rather a clarification of the mind and heart which will allow new heights of love and understanding to be achieved naturally.
But very many persons will find that the burden of true sorrow, which they accepted as a gift on the Day of Repentance, is now alleviated by the grace of God and by this gift of consolation.
And holy persons who do not need to have some obstacle removed from their mind or heart will find that this day gives them a type of strength of spirit, that is, a strengthening of resolve in the heart, and an increase in the clarity of the mind, so as to more effectively know and do the will of God.
A Sign of the Future Resurrection
The general Resurrection, that is, the Resurrection of the just and the unjust on the last day, will take place in the very distant future. The first Resurrection, described in Revelation 20:4-6, will take place in the 25th century (long before the general Resurrection). But on this day (the day of Consolation), an event occurs as a sign to the whole world, a sign for both the repentant who also receive the gift of consolation and for the unrepentant, even though they will not receive the gift of consolation. The event is not a resurrection, but merely a sign of the future resurrection. This is similar to that sign which occurred on the first Easter Sunday:

{27:52} And the tombs were opened. And many bodies of the saints, which had been sleeping, arose.
{27:53} And going out from the tombs, after his resurrection, they went into the holy city, and they appeared to many.
Exactly how this sign will be given, or exactly what form it will take, I am not certain. I am NOT saying that anyone will be resurrected from the dead on this day of consolation. I believe that this sign is more in the way of past relatives appearing to some persons as witnesses that this day of Consolation is from God and as a preparation for the eventual (in the very distant future) resurrection of each and every person.
Ten Day Before…
Mirjana said: “The first two secrets will be warnings to the world, events that will occur before a visible sign is given to humanity. These will happen in my lifetime. Ten days before the first secret and the second secret, I will notify Father Petar Ljubicic. He will pray and fast for seven days, and then he will announce these to the world”
Notice that she groups the first two secrets together. Also notice the specific wording: “Ten days before the first secret and the second secret….” She words it this way because the second secret happens so soon after the first secret that there are not two separate sets of ten days preparation before each of the first two secrets, nor are there two separate announcements. The first and second secrets will be announced by Fr. Petar on the same day.
The first secret occurs on Good Friday, April 10th, and the second secret occurs on the very next Sunday, April 12th, which is Easter Sunday, only 2 or 3 days after the first secret (depending on how you count the days). So, ten days before the first secret, Mirjana will reveal both the first and second secrets to Fr. Petar (on March 31). And beginning on Wednesday, April 1st, he will fast and pray for 7 days. Then on the 7th day, Tuesday, April 7th (the historical date of the Crucifixion of Christ), Fr. Petar will announce both the first and second secrets.

The Third Secret of Medjugorje is same as the Miracle of Garabandal, also called the Day of Healing.
What the Third Secret Is
See the article on the Miracle of Garabandal. In summary, the third secret consists of three things:
1. the gift of healing given to very many, but not all, faithful persons and repentant sinners throughout the world
2. Permanent Signs at many, but not all, places of true private revelation throughout the world
3. the conversion of very many unbelievers throughout the world, because they have been healed by God internally (making it easier for them to believe), or because they know of the healings of other persons, for because they see, or even merely hear about, the Permanent Signs.
The Extent of the Third Secret
The Miracle of Garabandal is the third secret of Medjugorje. Do you find this hard to believe? But I say more. There are numerous other places of true private revelation which also will be given Permanent Signs, just as at Garabandal, just as at Medjugorje. Allow me to appeal to your reason as well as to your faith. The Warning affects every single soul on earth, from prenatals in the womb to the elderly, from the faithful to persons of other faiths, to atheists, from the very good to the very bad, and everyone in-between. And this great expansiveness of the first secret (i.e. the Warning) is due to the great expansiveness of the Mercy and Love of God. So how is it that you think the third secret is only for one or two small towns out of all the towns and cities on the face of the earth. Even if millions gather at only one or two locations, still this is so much less than the perhaps 6.5 billion or so persons affected by the first secret (the Warning, i.e. the Day of Repentance). Do you not believe that God is using these events to change the whole world? So how could this third effort by God be so limited? The answer is that it cannot possibly be so limited. God is reaching out to the whole world with the first three secrets of Medjugorje, so as to prepare the whole world, or at least all those within the whole world who will respond to God's graces. For the sufferings of the first part of the tribulation are to begin very soon after the Miracle.
Notice also that the Warning (the Day of Repentance) is a benefit for the soul, at least for those who accept its gift by repenting and converting. And then the subsequent Day of Consolation, though not given to all persons on earth, does affect the spirits of everyone on earth who has accepted the first gift, that of repentance from sin; these very many persons all over the world will receive Divine consolation on that day. The gift of the first secret, repentance, is offered to everyone; those who accept it are offered the gift of the next secret, consolation. So how could the gift of the third secret, meant to heal the bodies of the faithful who are in need, so as to prepare them for the sufferings soon to fall upon the whole world, not be worldwide in extent? It cannot. It must apply very widely (but not universally) to those in need of this Day of Healing, and this Permanent Sign of the power and mercy of God. So does God prepare the souls, the spirits, and the bodies, of all those throughout the whole world who are willing respond to His graces and gifts, before He brings His Just Afflictions upon the world.
Therefore, appealing to your reason as well as to your faith, I tell you that there will be many Permanent Signs in numerous places of true private revelation. So then, the whole world does not have to go to Medjugorje or Garabandal to be present for the Permanent Sign; there will be numerous places with Permanent Signs because these are Signs for the whole world. (But beware of false claims of private revelation, telling you that they, too, will have a Permanent Sign. For there are many false prophets in the world today.)
Little Time Left
It has been said: “After the visible sign, those who are still alive will have little time for conversion.”
If you have not repented and converted after having been offered by God the gifts of the first three secrets (the Day of Repentance, the Day of Consolation, the Day of Healing), then woe to you! Your suffering will be greater in the coming afflictions that those who have turned to God for His Divine assistance. The time left for conversion after the third secret, that is, after the Permanent Signs and all the miraculous healings throughout the world, is short. There is a space of time given by God after the events of the third secret. This is provided as a last effort to bring persons to conversion, so that they will be properly prepared for the beginning of the tribulation. But it is a short space of time (weeks or months, but certainly less than a year).
Within the same calendar year as the third secret, the afflictions of the subsequent secrets begin with the start of the fourth secret (World War 3). This war, if you would believe me, begins with a nuclear bomb explosion in New York City; a bomb sent by the Arab/Muslim nations of the Middle East and northern Africa, who at that time will be led by extremists and united as one group of nations (led by Iran and Iraq). Then, in reaction to this event, there will be great fear and chaos, and then later troop movements and battles. See the articles on the remaining secrets.

The Fourth Secret of Medjugorje
What: World War 3, which is the first horseman and the first Seal of the Book of Revelation.
Who: The Arab/Muslim nations of the Middle East and northern Africa, led by extremists, attack the U.S., then attack Europe, and later attack parts of Africa, Scandinavia, Eastern Europe.
When: 2010 to 2018/2019
Where: New York City is attacked first, with a nuclear bomb. Later, the above-mentioned nations are attacked and invaded. The U.S. is not invaded.
Why: Unrepentant evil persons gain power in many Muslim nations because not enough persons there repented, without relapsing, at the time of the Warning; also, both the Warning and the Miracle strike unrepentant evil persons with profound fear, so they strike out in desperation.
Introduction
The secrets of Medjugorje are divided into two sets of secrets. The first three secrets are blessings on the human person. The Day of Repentance (i.e. the Warning) is a blessing on the soul; the Day of Consolation is a blessing on the spirit; the Day of Healing (i.e. the Miracle) is a blessing on the body. These blessings of the first three secrets prepare the Church and the world for the first part of the tribulation, which is described by the next set of seven secrets, all of which are afflictions for the world.
These seven secrets are the same as the Seven Seals of the Book of Revelation, but with the understanding that, although the Seventh Seal is divided into Seven Trumpets, only the events of the first Six Trumpets are for this generation. (The Seventh Trumpet is a set of afflictions for the distant future, in the 25th century.)
I anticipate that some persons will be upset or incredulous when I say that the last seven secrets of Medjugorje are the events signified in the Book of Revelation by the Seven Seals. Perhaps they expect the events of the secrets to be something entirely unheard of; but that is not the way God works. He likes to prepare His people. He spent thousands of years preparing the Jewish people for the arrival of Jesus Christ, the Messiah. He spent about two thousand years preparing the Christian people for these events of the first part of the tribulation. Within the Old Testament, God placed many indications, foreshadowings, and symbols telling the faithful about the future Messiah. Even his arrival riding a donkey into Jerusalem was revealed in advance. So how can you expect that God would not put these important events of the secrets into Sacred Scripture, though they are partially hidden with symbolic language?
During these events of the last seven of the ten secrets of Medjugorje, many people will think that it is the end of the world, so terrible will those events be. But such is not the case. The tribulation is divided into two parts: the first part is for our generation and is described by the last seven of the ten secrets. But then there will be a time of rebuilding and of relative peace and holiness. And afterward, the world will again slowly progress into greater and greater sinfulness; kingdoms will rise and fall. Then, in the 25th century, the second part of the tribulation occurs, including the brief reign of the Antichrist and the subsequent return of Jesus Christ. So the end of the world is not for this present-day generation, nor is the Antichrist in the world today. And the Return of Jesus is still hundreds of years away. Do not let anyone deceive you! Despite these many very intense worldwide sufferings, now is not the time of the end of the world!
The Fourth Secret Prepares for Future Events
The fourth secret is World War 3. It begins sometime in the year 2010, and continues until the late 2010's, gradually winding down from about 2017 to 2018/2019. This war is the first Seal of the Seven Seals in the Book of Revelation.
Now there were other world wars, and there have been various other terrible events in human history, some due to human action and others due to natural disasters. So why is this war so significant as to be the first Seal? It is not merely because of the amount of suffering, which will be great, but because of the meaning of the events and their purpose within the ineffable Providence of God.
During World War 3, the Arab/Muslim extremists conquer a vast territory, including many Christian nations. God's purpose is to punish the Christian nations for their many sins, because so many persons in these nations will remain unrepentant, despite the Warning and the Miracle, or will repent only to fall back into sin. God's purpose is also to prepare a kingdom for the great Catholic monarch, because the vast territory conquered by the Arab/Muslim extremists will later be freed by the great Catholic monarch and become his holy kingdom, the holiest mere human kingdom that the world will ever see. And then, much later, after his kingdom is divided, and after the nations fall into ever more serious sin, from one of these kingdoms will come the Antichrist, who will reign briefly in the distant future (25th century). So this war is the first Seal because it begins a series of events, eventually culminating, hundreds of years later, with the second part of the tribulation and the Return of Jesus Christ. That is what makes this war unique, giving it an important place in salvation history.
The Fourth Secret in Sacred Scripture
[Revelation 6]
{6:1} And I saw that the Lamb had opened one of the seven seals. And I heard one of the four living creatures saying, in a voice like thunder: “Draw near and see.”
{6:2} And I saw, and behold, a white horse. And he who was sitting upon it was holding a bow, and a crown was given to him, and he went forth conquering, so that he might prevail.
The First of the Seven Seals is also the first of the four horsemen: World War 3. The horse is white because this war, as terrible as it will be, is permitted by the Providence of God as a punishment for sins. The bow represents weapons that fly through the air (bullets, artillery, missiles). The crown that is given means that those who go forth conquering will prevail, i.e. they will win the war. The crown is noteworthy because it represents a role of leadership which will continue through many generations, until the return of Christ (who needs no earthly crown). So the kingdom of the Arab/Muslim extremists later becomes the kingdom of the great Catholic monarch; his kingdom is later divided into four kingdoms; centuries later two of those kingdoms go to war, bringing the Antichrist to power over the world; after he is thrown down, Jesus Christ returns and establishes His kingdom on earth.
[Daniel 8]
{8:1} In the third year of the reign of Belshazzar the king, a vision appeared to me. After that which I had seen in the beginning, I, Daniel,
{8:2} saw in my vision, that I was in the capital city of Susa, which is in the region of Elam, yet I saw in the vision that I was over the gate of Ulai.
{8:3} And I lifted up my eyes and saw, and behold, a single ram stood before the marsh, having two high horns, and one was higher than the other and growing higher still.
{8:4} After this, I saw the ram brandishing his horns against the West, and against the North, and against the Meridian, and all the beasts could not withstand him, nor be freed from his hand, and he did according to his own will, and he became great.
The ram is the Arab/Muslim nations led by two extremist leaders, symbolized by two horns: the leader of Iran and the leader of Iraq. One of these two leaders will be more of a military/political leader; the other will emphasize religion and will use religion to gain and keep power. There is a large marsh between Iran and Iraq; so the march signifies those nations (called Media and Persia in ancient times). The ram attacks to the West (the United States - New York City), to the North (Europe), and to the Meridian (i.e. toward the equator in Africa). All the other 'beasts,' that is, kingdoms, will be unable to stop the ram; this group of nations led by extremists will conquer and rule. Daniel 8:1-4 describes World War 3, which is the First Seal (the fourth secret).
Summary of the War
Overview: In World War 3, the Arab/Muslim nations of the Middle East and northern Africa, led by Iran and Iraq, invade and conquer Europe, part of Eastern Europe, part or all of Scandinavia, and the northern part of Africa above the equator. World War 3 begins in 2010 and continues throughout the 2010's, winding down in 2018/2019.
2009: A small war will prepare for this great war; this small war is not yet World War 3 and is not the First Seal. In the year 2009, beginning and ending in that year, there will be, in the Arab/Muslim nations of the Middle East and northern Africa, coups, insurrections, and outright war. Extremist Arab/Muslims will fight against moderate Arab/Muslims, and the extremists will win in every case. If they cannot win with coups or insurrection, then one nation will go to war against its neighbor. In just a few months, those nations will be transformed into a group of nations each led by an extremist leader; and the entire group of those nations will be led by the leader of Iran and the leader of Iraq. This event is the upheaval associated with the First Secret of Medjugorje (the Warning). See that article for more on this point. This small war is a reaction by wicked persons to the Warning and the Miracle.
2010: World War 3 is a very bloody war; millions upon millions of human lives will be lost. It begins in 2010, when the Arab/Muslim nations of the Middle East and northern Africa, led by Iran and Iraq, send a nuclear bomb and explode it in New York City. This is not a 'dirty' bomb, but an actual nuclear bomb explosion. It is not a missile. This event is devastating to the city, the nation, and it sends fear throughout the world. For the world now realizes that these extremist-led nations have nuclear weapons and are willing to use them against major cities. The fact that they would nuke New York City, despite the large military and the nuclear weapons possessed by the United States, sends fear through other nations, lest they also be attacked.
“You will make them like an oven of fire, in the time of your presence. The Lord will stir them up with his wrath, and fire will devour them.” (Psalm 20:10)
The nuclear bomb will be exploded in 2010, but not until a short time after the Miracle (the third secret) is completed. Since the first three secrets prepare the Church and the world for the subsequent sufferings, the event that begins the war cannot occur until after the third secret has happened and has had some time to have its intended effect. Therefore, I estimate that it will be sometime between June 1 and December 31 that the war will begin with this nuclear bomb attack on New York City.
The extremists undertake this war because they have become terrified, due to the events of the first three secrets. Those events are blessings to the faithful, but are a horror to those who are evil, because they realize their time is short. With a fear and desperation that reaches to the very depths of their sinful souls, they attack other nations: first the United States, and then Europe, and then the northern part of Africa. They are willing to use nuclear weapons, and the nations that they attack are not willing to use nuclear weapons, and so they win. But it is a long and bloody war.
2011: Although the nuclear bomb explosion in New York City in 2010 is the clear beginning point for World War 3, some number of months pass after that point in time, before there are major troop movements, major battles, and major incursions by the Arab forces. In 2011, the war develops further, not only with troop movements and battles. In addition to troops and battles, this war is unusual in that rioting and street violence from Arab/Muslims living within the nations of Europe play an important role in the war.
2012: The Arab forces are advancing into Italy and toward Rome. The Pope flees, is captured, put on trial, blinded, and sent to a prison in Iraq, where he eventually dies (in 2012 or 2013). (This Pope is the one called Peter the Roman by St. Malachy; I believe that he will be Cardinal Arinze and that he will take the name Pope Pius XIII.)
2012/2013: The Arab forces capture Rome. A new Pope as well as a prominent antipope will be elected; both elections are not according to the rules for electing the Pope. Later, in 2013, the Allied forces retake the city and drive back the Arab forces. The true Pope and the antipope go to Rome, each to try to claim the papacy as his own.
July of 2013: The Arab forces strike the City of Rome with a nuclear missile, because they could not hold the city. The Pope and the antipope are both killed in the explosion.
2013 to 2017: The Arab forces become unstoppable. The threat of the use of nuclear weapons, and the civil disorder (rioting, street violence, etc.) help them to conquer nations, weakened from within by fear and chaos. They sweep across Europe. Some nations do not even put up a fight, because they are afraid of nuclear weapons and civil disorder. The Arab forces make advances in northern Africa, but are stopped at or above the equator.
2018 to 2019: World War 3 gradually ends, as the fighting subsides and more nations submit to the Arab forces. The war ends and the extremists have conquered a vast territory. All of Europe will be conquered along with the Middle East, the northern part of Africa, part or all of Scandinavia and part of Eastern Europe. Israel will not be conquered, but will be as if under siege during all this time. The nations of Africa below the equator will not be conquered. Russia and China will not be involved in this war in any major way.
2020's: The Arab/Muslim forces continue to occupy the nations they have conquered and to oppress the people. They particularly persecute Christians and do not permit Catholic Christian worship.

The Fifth Secret
What: Civil chaos, street violence, rioting, and violent crimes, which are the second horseman and the second Seal of the Book of Revelation.
When: Beginning sometime after World War 3 begins, and continuing until the late 2010's.
Where: This affects not only the nations involved in World War 3, but nearly every nation on earth, to one extent or another.
Who: Persons committing these acts of street violence are those who did not repent at the Warning, or who repented but later relapsed into sin.
Why: Because of fear and desperation in response to the Warning, and the Miracle, and World War 3, and the nuclear bomb explosion in New York City (2010).
Introduction
Notice that all the events of the secrets are interrelated. The rejection of the blessings of the first three secrets causes people to fall into greater sinfulness, and into fear and desperation, resulting in war as well as civil violence. The war is also one of the causes of the civil violence. This natural interdependency of the events of the secrets confirms this to be the correct understanding of the secrets. Also, notice that if everyone accepted the Warning and the subsequent blessings, their own repentance and sorrow at sin would naturally prevent them from starting an unjust war, or engaging in chaotic street violence and rioting. This intrinsic relationship between sin and the punishment for sin also confirms that this is the correct understanding.
The Fifth Secret in Sacred Scripture
[Revelation 6]
{6:4} And another horse went forth, which was red. And it was granted to him who was sitting upon it that he would take peace from the earth, and that they would kill one another. And a great sword was given to him.
The fifth secret is also the Second Seal, which is the second horseman. The first four Seals are also called the four horsemen because they are all related to the war (World War 3) and to one another. The war causes civil unrest and civil violence, to an extraordinary degree, for a number of reasons.
First, the holy events of the Warning and the Miracle of Garabandal caused many changes in the whole world, not only bringing many people to conversion, but also bringing those who rejected these gifts into greater sinfulness. In addition, these holy events caused fear even among believers, and greater fear among unbelievers and unrepentant sinners. And so these holy events disrupt religion and society in general. Many who are not holy respond with violence to this fear and disruption and change.
Second, the war disrupts the world economy. Even today (as I write this in 2007), the economy of the many nations in the world is interrelated and interdependent (much more so that during world wars 1 and 2). This major world war is therefore more disruptive to the world economy and to society. There will be high unemployment and many persons will feel desperation. There will be oil and gasoline shortages, and high prices when it is available. There will be numerous other kinds of disruptions to society. All this will cause many unrepentant persons to respond with violence.
Third, in 2010, and again in 2013, nuclear weapons are used; this increases fear throughout the world, worsens the economic problems, and exacerbates the civil unrest. It also displaces very many people who flee the fallout from these two nuclear weapons. In addition, the war causes many persons to flee from the advancing armies of the Arab/Muslim extremists.
The civil unrest of the Second Seal is greater than any civil unrest in human history. There are many riots; there is much violence of every kind, including violent crimes by individuals against individuals, violent crimes by groups against individuals and groups, and violence against government and society and religion. There is an increase in crime so great that police forces are overwhelmed and do not have the officers or the resources to respond. Some persons will need to exercise their right to self-defense. Many nations will use their own military to try to keep order in the streets. Very many human lives will be lost due to this extreme civil unrest.
The extent of the civil unrest and civil violence is worldwide. Even though World War 3 is limited to a certain area of the world, fear caused by the war, as well as the more widespread economic disruptions, is not limited to a certain area. This civil unrest begins with World War 3 in 2010, and it increases from 2010 to 2015; then it decreases from 2015 to the late 2010's. There will be relative calm in the early 2020's (but still many severe problems in the world).
[Zechariah 6]
{6:1} And I turned, and I lifted up my eyes and I saw. And behold, four four-horse chariots went out from the middle of two mountains. And the mountains were mountains of brass.
{6:2} In the first chariot were red horses, and in the second chariot were black horses,
{6:3} and in the third chariot were white horses, and in the fourth chariot were speckled horses, and they were strong.
{6:4} And I responded and said to the angel who was speaking with me, “What are these, my lord?”
{6:5} And the angel answered and said to me, “These are the four winds of heaven, which go forth to stand in the presence of the Sovereign of all the earth.”
{6:6} The one with the black horses was departing into the land of the North, and the white went forth after them, and the speckled went forth towards the land of the South.
{6:7} Yet those who were the most strong, went out, and sought to go and to roam quickly through all the earth. And he said, “Go, walk throughout the earth.” And they walked throughout the earth.
The white, red, black, and speckled horses represent the four horsemen of the Book of Revelation, which are the same as the first four Seals (i.e. secrets 4, 5, 6, 7). The horses which are most strong, and which go out to all the earth, are the red ones; they represent the civil violence, i.e. the fifth secret. Therefore this civil violence will be the most widespread of these four secrets (secrets 4, 5, 6, 7). The other horses primarily go forth to particular regions, so the afflictions they represent are not worldwide, or at least are not as severe in the rest of the world.

The Sixth Secret
What: The Great Famine, which is the third horseman and the third Seal of the Book of Revelation.
When: Nearly seven years, from mid 2013 to mid 2020 A.D., being most severe in the middle of that time.
Where: Most severely affected will be the nations of Europe, then somewhat less so the U.S., Canada, Japan, Australia, South Korea, and the other wealthy nations. Developing nations will be affected to a lesser extent.
Who: Nearly everyone on earth will be affected to one extent or another.
Why: Wealthy nations will be affected much more than poor nations, because the poor nations tend to grow their own food locally, whereas the wealthy nations have long complex food processing and distribution systems. The famine results in part from the fear and desperation which grips the whole world during this time, and from disruptions in food production, processing, and distribution caused by World War 3 (the fourth secret) and severe civil disorder (the fifth secret).
Introduction
At many times, in many places, throughout human history, there have been famines.
But this famine is very different, for several reasons:
1. It will affect nearly the whole world, to varying degrees in various places.
2. It will be more severe in wealthy developed nations, and less severe in poor developing nations.
3. It coincides with the repentance and conversion of all the Christian Churches, resulting in unity with the Catholic Church.
4. It was foreshadowed by famines in the Old Testament.
5. It was predicted by Jesus Himself in the parable of the Prodigal Son.
6. It occurs during the first part of the tribulation.
7. It is unlike any famine that the world has yet seen.
8. Another kind of a famine, in which many of the faithful are mostly denied the Eucharist, begins during this famine and continues after it; this denial of the Eucharist occurs in the occupied territories during and after World War 3.
9. This great famine foreshadows an even greater famine in the distant future, during the second part of the tribulation.
10. This great famine foreshadows the nearly seven year reign of the Antichrist in the distant future, during the second part of the tribulation.
Do not underestimate the severity of this famine.
The Sixth Secret in Sacred Scripture
It was a seven year famine that brought the family of Joseph to Egypt.
[Genesis]
{41:27} Likewise, the seven thin and emaciated cows, which ascended after them, and the seven thin ears of grain, which were struck with the burning wind, are seven approaching years of famine.
…
{41:54} the seven years of destitution, which Joseph had predicted, began to arrive. And the famine prevailed throughout the whole world, but there was bread in all the land of Egypt.
{41:55} And being hungry, the people cried out to Pharaoh, asking for provisions. And he said to them: “Go to Joseph. And do whatever he will tell you.”
Now certainly there was such a famine during the time of the Patriarchs. But the famine then was also a foreshadowing of this future famine: “And the famine prevailed throughout the whole world, but there was bread in all the land of Egypt.” And so this famine of the sixth secret will be nearly worldwide in extent (with varying degrees of severity), but the land of Egypt will have food. In this passage, Egypt is a figure of the Arab/Muslim nations (of the Middle East and northern Africa) who battle during World War 3. They will have food, because they will take food by force, away from the nations that they conquer during the war.
In verse 55, the people are hungry, not only for food, but for spiritual food. So they cry out to Pharaoh, a figure of the secular governments of this time. But even the governments are at a loss to explain these recent events, from the Warning through to the famine. So when Pharaoh sends the people to Joseph for help, it is a figure of even secular leaders and governments turning to the Catholic Church for help and guidance, and to give spiritual food to the people. The end result of people turning to the Catholic Church for answers will be the eventual repentance and conversion of the Protestant and Orthodox Churches, and their return to unity with the Catholic Church.
This same famine is mentioned in the Psalms.
[Psalms]
{104:16} And he called a famine upon the land, and he crushed every foundation of the bread.
The Psalmist tells us that the famine during the time of Joseph was brought by God, not by nature, not by human events. So it is also with the famine of the sixth secret; the great famine is brought upon the world by the Providence of God. But if there were no serious sin in the world, there would be no famine.
Now Jesus Himself predicted this famine, in His parable of the Prodigal Son. The relationship between unification and the famine is also presented by Jesus in this parable.
[Luke]
{15:12} And the younger of them said to the father, 'Father, give me the portion of your estate which would go to me.' And he divided the estate between them.
{15:13} And after not many days, the younger son, gathering it all together, set out on a long journey to a distant region. And there, he dissipated his substance, living in luxury.
{15:14} And after he had consumed it all, a great famine occurred in that region, and he began to be in need.
{15:15} And he went and attached himself to one of the citizens of that region. And he sent him to his farm, in order to feed the swine.
{15:16} And he wanted to fill his belly with the scraps that the swine ate. But no one would give it to him.
{15:17} And returning to his senses, he said: 'How many hired hands in my father's house have abundant bread, while I perish here in famine!
{15:18} I shall rise up and go to my father, and I will say to him: Father, I have sinned against heaven and before you.
{15:19} I am not worthy to be called your son. Make me one of your hired hands.'
{15:20} And rising up, he went to his father. But while he was still at a distance, his father saw him, and he was moved with compassion, and running to him, he fell upon his neck and kissed him.
{15:21} And the son said to him: 'Father, I have sinned against heaven and before you. Now I am not worthy to be called your son.'
{15:22} But the father said to his servants: 'Quickly! Bring out the best robe, and clothe him with it. And put a ring on his hand and shoes on his feet.
{15:23} And bring the fatted calf here, and kill it. And let us eat and hold a feast.
Just as the Prodigal Son comes to his senses during a great famine, so also will the non-Catholic Christian Churches come to their senses during the Great Famine. Just as the Prodigal Son returned to unity with his family, because of the abundant bread in his father's house, so also will the Protestant Churches return to unity with the Catholic Church, because of the abundant graces offered by the holy Eucharist. From 2017 to 2019, the Protestant Churches will repent and convert, and as they do, the famine will decrease in severity. Then, from 2020 to 2023, the Catholic Church will be restructured to include all the formerly-Protestant Churches and all the Eastern Churches, as well as the Latin Rite of the Catholic Church. When the restructuring begins, the famine ends. And as the restructuring continues, food resources increase so much so that, by 2023, there is even feasting. So it is only by the repentance and conversion of the Protestant and Orthodox Churches, and their unification with the Catholic Church, that the famine ends and is replaced, first by sufficient food, then by feasting.
In addition to the relationship between the great famine and the unification of all Christian Churches in one Catholic Church, there is also a relationship between the great famine, unification, and the persecution of Christians.
[Luke]
{21:9} And when you will have heard of battles and seditions, do not be terrified. These things must happen first. But the end is not so soon.”
{21:10} Then he said to them: “People will rise up against people, and kingdom against kingdom.
{21:11} And there will be great earthquakes in various places, and pestilences, and famines, and terrors from heaven; and there will be great signs.
{21:12} But before all these things, they will lay their hands on you and persecute you, handing you over to synagogues and into custody, dragging you before kings and governors, because of my name.
{21:13} And this will be an opportunity for you to give testimony.
The persecution and testimony of verses 12 and 13 refer to the world's reaction to the first three secrets of Medjugorje (the Warning/Day of Repentance; the Day of Consolation; the Miracle/Day of Healing). The world will be in great fear during that time. And so, finding themselves unable to explain these things with reason alone, they will turn, but with a querulous and contemptuous attitude, to the faithful for an explanation. Some will even attempt to persecute Catholics during that time, but this attempt will fail, at that time. Catholics will be called before secular leaders in order to explain these events.
Concurrently, there will be war and civil disorder and famine and death from a variety of causes. As the war unfolds, and the extremists begin to conquer and occupy territory, they will oppress and persecute Christians. The famine begins after the war begins, and the famine ends soon after the war ends, but the persecution of Christians continues beyond the war. Now the famine, as well as the events of the first three secrets, are what spur the Protestants and the Orthodox to return to unity with the Catholic Church. But their return to unity scares the Muslim extremists (but not the devout Muslims who are faithful in prayer to God); they fear a unified Catholic Christian Church might take followers away from them and might undermine their worldly power. They fear the Catholic Church because of the events of the first three secrets, which they can neither explain nor refute. So they subjugate and oppress and persecute Christians in the territories that they conquered during World War 3, and they do this to an ever-increasing extent, especially after the war and after unification.
But at the time of the great Ecumenical Council of 2028 to 2032, (which will confirm unification and address the problems caused by it, and which will teach many doctrines infallibly), the Muslim extremists will have become firmly convinced that they must destroy Christianity. The Warning and the Miracle terrified them; their success in winning World War 3 inflated them; their dread at unification and at the success of this Council finally convinces them: they decide to destroy the Christian faith, first within the vast territory occupied by them (northern Africa, the Middle East, Europe, parts of Eastern Europe, and Scandinavia), and next in the whole world. Beginning in the late 2020's, and continuing into the mid 2030's, they will massacre Christians who refuse to convert to Islam, within the territory that they control. This is the eighth secret (i.e. the Fifth Seal of the Book of Revelation); see the article on that subject. Next, for much the same reasons, they decide that they must destroy or conquer the other non-Muslim nations (the Christian nations). The threat of nuclear war is imminent, because by then, the mid 2030's, they will have obtained control over numerous nuclear intercontinental ballistic missiles. The Allies strike first, out of absolute necessity, and then World War 4 unfolds, which is an all-out nuclear war and the ninth secret; see the article on that subject.
My point here is that the great famine (the sixth secret) is one of the causes of unification, and unification is one of the causes of the great martyrdom (the eighth secret) and even of the fourth world war. So the great famine is not just a widespread famine; it is influenced by and has an influence on, the other secrets. Also, all the secrets are related closely to one another, with the first three secrets having an influence that extends throughout all the other secrets.
The Acts of the Apostles also predicted this great famine.
[Acts]
{11:27} Now in these days, prophets from Jerusalem went over to Antioch.
{11:28} And one of them, named Agabus, rising up, signified through the Spirit that there was going to be a great famine over the entire world, which did happen under Claudius.
Certainly, as Sacred Scripture says, there was a famine during that time, in the first century, under Claudius. However, that prediction written in Scripture has a greater meaning: predicting the great famine of the 21st century. So the famine under Claudius was a foreshadowing of the great famine of our time period. For the famine under Claudius was widespread, but the great famine will affect nearly the whole world, and so it represents a more complete fulfillment of that prediction.
[Revelation 6]
{6:5} And when he had opened the third seal, I heard the third living creature saying: “Draw near and see.” And behold, a black horse. And he who was sitting upon it was holding a balance in his hand.
{6:6} And I heard something like a voice in the midst of the four living creatures saying, “A double measure of wheat for a denarius, and three double measures of barley for a denarius, but do no harm to wine and oil.”
The sixth secret is the great famine, which is the third horseman and the Third Seal. This event is largely a result of the war and the civil unrest, as well as of the fear caused by the first three secrets. This famine is unlike other famines in human history, because it affects wealthy developed nations much more severely than poor nations. The symbol of a balance (or scale) means that food will be rationed. A denarius was a day's pay in the time period in which the Book of Revelation was written. In that time period, wheat was the food of the wealthy, and barley was the food of the poor. So, the saying that a denarius provides a double measure of wheat, but three double measures of barley, means that the famine will be much more severe in the wealthy developed nations than in the poorer nations. Oil and wine were luxury items in ancient times. The saying 'do no harm to wine and oil' means that luxury items will be available, but food will be scarce.
There are a number of reasons why the great famine affects wealthy nations more than poorer nations. First, it is mainly the wealthy nations which are involved in the war: the United States and the European nations, as well as some of the wealthy allies of the U.S. So the war affects them more severely. In fact, the famine will be most severe in Europe because of the war taking place there.
Second, the wealthier nations have long and complex supply chains for food, whereas the poorer nations tend to grow their food locally. The wealthier nations have many of their foods heavily processed before delivery, whereas the poorer nations tend to eat simpler foods. For example, a potato might be grown in one state, then it is shipped to a company in another state for processing into a food product. And when it is processed, several ingredients might be added which come from other states or even other nations. Next it is shipped to another wholesale company in yet another state, and then it is shipped to a supermarket food chain's warehouses in several states, and finally it is distributed to various supermarkets throughout the nation. That one poor little potato has to travel thousands of miles in total to arrive at the kitchen table. But in a poor nation, they grow the potato locally, then it is sold, cooked, and eaten. Or, they grow the potato on their own land, and it goes from their backyard to their kitchen. The food distribution system of wealthy nations has become absurdly long and complex, and as a result, it is easily disrupted by the war and the civil unrest.
Third, the whole world will be in a state of fear and consternation during this time (except for the more faithful members of the Church). Some will say, incorrectly, that it is the end of the world. Numerous false and sensational claims will be made. There will be wars and rumors of wars. There will be severe changes in the Church, the family, society, and politics. There will be economic ruin. Many persons will die and many will fall into severe poverty. Many persons will be displaced from their homes; the large number of displaced persons will contribute significantly to the famine. As a result these various problems, the civil unrest will become worse. And so, growing and distributing food will become difficult.
Fourth, the current system for food distribution in wealth nations is that the food is sold and bought. Money exchanges hands many times from the growing of the food, to its final consumption. But with the economy in ruin because of the war and the civil unrest, many companies will go out of business and many citizens will have very little money for good. Also, there will be rampant inflation, especially for the price of food items. The more times a food item is bought and sold before reaching the consumer, the higher the price of the item. If you buy potatoes directly from the farmer, it is cheaper than if you buy potatoes from a company that bought them from another company that bought them from another company that bought them from the farmer. But in poorer nations, when people grow food themselves (and save the seed to grow the next crop), they do not even need money to have food.
The great famine will last seven years, from mid-2013 to mid-2020. Prior to mid-2013, there will be some disruptions in the food supply, and some inflation of food prices, and some difficulty obtaining food in the quantity, quality, and diversity to which wealthy nations were formerly accustomed, but not outright famine. The famine begins in earnest in July of 2013, when the Arab/Muslim extremist forces during World War 3 strike Rome and Vatican City with a nuclear missile. Previously, in 2010, they had exploded a nuclear bomb (not a missile) in New York City. Then, in July of 2013, when it becomes clear that they have nuclear missiles and are willing to use them on a major population center, the world is thrown into a greater level of fear and disorder. The food problems then become an outright famine, especially in Europe and in wealthy nations.
The great famine reaches its height in the year 2015. From 2017 to 2019, it continually lessens, until it ends in mid-2020. Then from mid 2020 to the year 2023, food resources will increase further, until there is plenty of food in 2023.
The event which ends the famine is not a result of politics or laws or agriculture or economics. The famine cannot end except by the repentance and conversion of the Protestant Churches, and the unification of all Christians in one holy Catholic Church. This repentance and conversion occurs from 2017 to 2019, resulting in formal unification, which takes about 3.5 years, from mid 2020 to late 2023. At that time, all Christians will become Catholic Christians (except for a few stragglers and fringe groups). This repentance and conversion and unification is what ends the war and the civil unrest and the famine. God is so pleased by this repentance and conversion and unification, that by His Grace and Providence, the war and the civil unrest and the famine end.
Nothing else can end the famine.

The Seventh Secret
What: Death from a variety of causes, which is the fourth horseman and the fourth Seal of the Book of Revelation.
When: During the time period of the fourth, fifth, and sixth secrets (i.e. the first, second, and third horsemen/seals); ending about 2018/2019.
Where: Worldwide; however, certain causes of death will be more prevalent in one area and other causes of death in other areas.
Who: Nearly everyone on earth will be in danger of one or another cause of death, to one extent or another; nearly everyone will fear for their lives. Those who live by faith in God might not have fear, but they will nevertheless be in peril; good and bad persons alike will die.
Why: These deaths, and the fear of death for those who escape death at this time, are a punishment from God for sin and for a world which lives as if there were no afterlife. As death and the fear of death swallow the whole world, people will seek consolation in belief in God and belief in heaven.
Introduction
Many devotees of Medjugorje have heard that the seventh secret was taken away due to prayer and sacrifice, but this is not true. This is a misunderstanding, one of several, about the secrets. What was said was this:
“An evil which threatened the world according to the seventh secret, had been eliminated through prayer and fasting.”
The meaning is that one of the several causes of death of the seventh secret has been eliminated, but the other causes of death and the other sufferings (fear of death). This is clear because recently Mary spoke to one of the visionaries of Medjugorje about the seventh secret:
Annual apparition to Ivanka - June 25, 2006 - Our Lady gave the following message:
“Dear children, thank you for having responded to my call. Pray, pray, pray.”
Our Lady was joyful and spoke about the seventh secret.
If the secret had been averted completely, there would be no reason for a message from the Virgin Mary (her only message that year to Ivanka) to discuss it. Also, since the secrets refer to the events predicted in the Book of Revelation, and Sacred Scripture is infallible, none of these events can be entirely eliminated, for Scripture cannot be broken. Any event can be lessened in severity, through prayer and self-denial and works of mercy, but none of these particular predictions can be taken away.
Christ had to suffer because of sin; even Christ, praying in the garden before His Passion, was not able to avoid His suffering. So then, neither can the Church and the world avoid its time of suffering because of sin, not even by means of prayer and repentance. And you know that, even if you are repentant from your sins, there is still temporal punishment due, which may require a temporary stay in Purgatory for its atonement. So then, even if the whole world repents, a severe punishment is still owed, and it shall be paid.
The Seventh Secret in Sacred Scripture
The seventh secret is the fourth horseman and the fourth Seal of the Book of Revelation.
[Revelation 6]
{6:7} And when he had opened the fourth seal, I heard the voice of the fourth living creature saying: “Draw near and see.”
{6:8} And behold, a pale horse. And he who was sitting upon it, his name was Death, and Hell was following him. And authority was given to him over the four parts of the earth, to destroy by the sword, by famine, and by death, and by the creatures of the earth.
The Fourth Seal is the fourth horseman. This is a set of events resulting from the events of the previous three Seals (war, civil unrest, famine). It is the deaths and fear of death that results from the first three Seals. But it is not death only, for we all die sooner or later. Hell is following Death, because many persons die unrepentant of their sins during this time. And the fear of death is not merely a fear of dying, but a fear of dying and going to Hell. For nearly the whole world will be convinced that God exists and that he is punishing the world for its sins.
Notice that this applies to 'the four parts of the earth.' The four parts refer to the four directions (north, south, east, west). So this Seal affects the whole world. Even though the war which is the first Seal is limited to a particular area of the world, it has a worldwide effect, as do the other Seals.
The phrase 'to destroy by the sword' means that there will be various small wars and uprisings, in various parts of the world, especially in the Southern Hemisphere (as we learn in Zechariah 6). These are not the war of the first Seal (World War 3), but smaller civil wars, local border skirmishes, internal uprisings, and the like. These local conflicts are caused, in large part, by the fear of death.
The phrase 'by famine and by death' means that the great famine, which is the third Seal, eventually results in many deaths. Some of these deaths may be due to lack of nutrition, but other deaths may be due to diseases. Disease takes hold more readily and spreads more easily in persons who are weakened by lack of proper nutrition. The phrase 'by the creatures of the earth' includes the microorganisms which cause disease. It is common knowledge that the combination of war, civil unrest, and famine often results in the spread of various diseases and in many deaths.

{6:1} And I turned, and I lifted up my eyes and I saw. And behold, four four-horse chariots went out from the middle of two mountains. And the mountains were mountains of brass.
{6:2} In the first chariot were red horses, and in the second chariot were black horses,
{6:3} and in the third chariot were white horses, and in the fourth chariot were speckled horses, and they were strong.
{6:4} And I responded and said to the angel who was speaking with me, “What are these, my lord?”
{6:5} And the angel answered and said to me, “These are the four winds of heaven, which go forth to stand in the presence of the Sovereign of all the earth.”
{6:6} The one with the black horses was departing into the land of the North, and the white went forth after them, and the speckled went forth towards the land of the South.
{6:7} Yet those who were the most strong, went out, and sought to go and to roam quickly through all the earth. And he said, “Go, walk throughout the earth.” And they walked throughout the earth.
The speckled horses and chariot represent the affliction of the seventh secret (fourth seal). The speckles (variegation) represents the fact that this affliction is a complex set of causes and effects, all related to death and the fear of death. Notice the wording used: “and in the fourth chariot were speckled horses, and they were strong.” This set of afflictions is very effective worldwide. Even though not all die, nearly all are afflicted by the fear of death. Society in general will suffer greatly because of widespread fear of death, so even those who through faith are not afraid will still be afflicted by the effects of this fear on those around them.
The speckled horses and their chariot go forth to the land of the South. This means that the affliction of the seventh secret (fourth seal) is stronger in the Southern Hemisphere. The affliction of World War 3 affects mainly nations in the Northern Hemisphere. But the affliction of the seventh seal is stronger in the Southern Hemisphere. Those nations will have many uprisings, coups, civil war, and small local wars and battles. The main cause of this unrest is the fear of death. Desperate people do desperate things.

The Eighth Secret
What: The Great Martyrdom, which is the fifth Seal of the Book of Revelation.
When: From the late 2020's (about 2028/2029) to the mid 2030's.
Where: Almost exclusively in the territories occupied by the Arab/Muslim extremists: northern Africa, the Middle East (but not Israel), Europe, parts of Eastern Europe, and parts of Scandinavia.
Who: This event is like the Jewish holocaust, but it is mostly Christians who are killed. At this time, almost all Christians will be Catholic, except for some heretics and schismatics; all the Protestant and Eastern Churches will have returned to full unity with the Catholic Church in the early 2020's.
Why: The Arab/Muslim extremists are afraid of the spiritual progress made by the Christian faith during the 2010's and 2020's (in the midst of all their suffering). They fear a loss of spiritual and worldly power. Their efforts to convert Christians to Islam have largely failed. So they undertake a plan to massacre all Christians who refuse to convert to Islam. Millions will be killed before the slaughter is checked by World War 4.
Introduction
Recall that the Warning and the Miracle brought great fear and desperation to wicked and unrepentant persons, spurring them to undertake World War 3. After winning the war and conquering a vast territory, they are not satisfied because, in the midst of suffering, the Catholic Christian faith flourishes. The unification of all Christians in one Catholic Church again brings fear to the extremists, both to the religious and the secular extremist leaders who rule over the conquered nations. They fear a loss of spiritual and worldly power. The extremists are led by two men, one a spiritual leader and the other a worldly (political/military) leader. Their followers also consist of some Muslim extremists and some worldly (nominally Muslim) extremists. After unification (early 2020's), they will increase their persecution and oppression of Christians, and attempt to force them to convert to Islam, but the effect will be an increase in faith among the Christians.
Since most refuse to convert, the extremists move from persecution, oppression, and forced conversion, to an all-out massacre of all those who refuse to convert. They will hunt down priests and religious, and kill them. They will massacre an increasingly large number of Christians. The total number killed will be in the tens of millions. Their stated aim will be to wipe out Christianity within the entire vast territory which they occupy. They plan to have only one religion in their territory: an extremist version of Islam.
Now the moderate and the truly devout Muslims are not a part of this plan. Some of them assist the Christians who are being persecuted; but there is little that they can do. And those Muslims who are caught helping the persecuted Christians will also be killed.
The Eighth Secret in Sacred Scripture
The eighth secret is the fifth Seal of the Book of Revelation, but it is not called the fifth horseman. The first four Seals are called the four horsemen to indicate that they are all related. The war (first seal) is one of the causes of the civil unrest (second seal). The war and civil unrest are two of the causes of the famine (third seal). The war, civil unrest, and famine are among the causes of the fourth seal/fourth horseman (death from a variety of causes, and the fear of death). These four are also related because they occur about the same time period, during the 2010's.
But the fifth seal (eighth secret) occurs at a later time than the previous four. It begins in the late 2020's, about 2028/2029, at the time of the beginning of the great Ecumenical Council (2028 to 2032). And the events of this secret are not directly caused by the famine, or the civil unrest, or the many deaths from a variety of causes. Certainly, without the war (and its victory by the Islamic extremists), the eighth secret would not be able to occur. But the war is not the cause of the eight secret. Rather, its cause is the reaction of the unrepentant wicked persons who control the occupied territories, and the reaction of their supporters, to the success of Christianity in the world.
The Warning and the Miracle scare these extremists into undertaking the upheaval in the Arab/Muslim nations (in 2009), and the subsequent world war (in the 2010's). The unification of all Christians in one Catholic Church (in the early 2020's) scares them into undertaking the severe oppression and persecution of Christians (with the aim of converting them) in the occupied territories after the war (during the 2020's). During the war, they were too busy consolidating power to pay as much attention to the Christians in the occupied nations. But now, in the late 2020's, their efforts at conversion have largely failed, and the Catholic Church calls a great Ecumenical Council to deal with the many problems caused by unification. I believe that this Council will be led by the Angelic Shepherd (Pope Raphael/Zlatko Sudac), who is a true miracle worker. The Council, and the holy Pope who leads it, and their decisions, convince the extremists that they cannot succeed in converting Christians to their extremist version of Islam. Catholics are encouraged in their sufferings by the election of this very holy Pope, and by his calling of the Council, and by its decisions. So the extremists decide to massacre all Christians who do not convert to their extremist version of Islam.
This massacre, the great Christian holocaust, is the eighth secret, which is the fifth seal of the Book of Revelation.
[Revelation]
{6:9} And when he had opened the fifth seal, I saw, under the altar, the souls of those who had been slain because of the Word of God and because of the testimony that they held.
{6:10} And they were crying out with a loud voice, saying: “How long, O Holy and True Lord, will you not judge and not vindicate our blood against those who dwell upon the earth?”
{6:11} And white robes were given to each of them. And they were told that they should rest for a brief time, until their fellow servants and their brothers, who were to be slain even as they were slain, would be completed.
When the fifth seal is opened, the souls of those martyred in various previous persecutions of Christians cry out to God, because this time of martyrdom is greater than any other in the history of Christianity. It is more severe than the persecution under Nero. More Christians (well over ten million) will be killed than Jews were killed in the Jewish holocaust (about 6 million). This event is the Christian holocaust. But it is limited, almost exclusively, to the occupied territories.
This great martyrdom of the first part of the tribulation will be exceeded only by the extremely severe, nearly worldwide, persecution of Christians in the distant future (25th century) during the second part of the tribulation, specifically during the last half of the Antichrist's reign.
Now the events of the eighth secret, that is, the great martyrdom of Christians in the occupied territories, itself is the cause (in part) of the ninth secret, which is an all-out nuclear war. The close relationship between all the events of all of the secrets shows that this explanation of the secrets is correct; for God's plan is one plan, a closely-woven tapestry of blessings and sufferings.

The Ninth Secret
What: World War 4, which is the sixth seal, an all-out nuclear war between the U.S. (with its Allies), and the Arab/Muslim extremists in their nations and in the occupied territories (i.e. the vast territory conquered by them during World War 3 in the 2010's).
When: World War 4 begins in the mid 2030's (about 2033/2034) and lasts about three and one half to four years, until sometime in 2037.
Who and Where: The United States and Europe will be the most severely affected, along with the Arab/Muslim nations of the Middle East and northern Africa. But neither Russia nor China are involved in any substantial way in the nuclear exchange.
Why: The United States makes the first strike, because the extremists have gained control over a large number of nuclear intercontinental ballistic missiles, and they intend to use them (thinking to destroy all those who oppose their extremist version of Islam), and because the extremists are killing millions of Christians (the eighth secret) in the occupied territories, with the intention of killing all Christians who refuse to convert to Islam.
World War IV
This war is heavily influenced by the events of the past secrets. The Warning and the Miracle gave the unrepentant extremist Muslims (not the devout prayerful Muslims) a profound fear of Christianity and of its signs and wonders and prophecies and miracles and teachings. Their success in winning World War 3 (which was permitted by God to punish sinners) has given them an arrogance and elation such that they would presume to think that they could next assert themselves over the whole world. The Muslims have long had a prophecy that Islam would conquer Europe; this occurs in World War 3 during the 2010's. They also have a prophecy that Islam will conquer the world; so the extremists think that they can win this next war. (They cannot win; it is ordained by God that they will lose.)
The persecution of Christians in the 2010's and especially the 2020's showed the extremists that they cannot use oppression and persecution to force conversions to Islam away from Christianity. The unification of all Christians in one Catholic Church in the early 2020's and the resolve of faithful Christians to suffer and to die, rather than to abandon the Faith, and the success of the Great Ecumenical Council (2028 to 2032), again strike the extremists will a profound fear of Christianity. They therefore decide to massacre all Christians in the occupied territories who refuse to convert to Islam. This great martyrdom of Christians is the eighth secret. They undertake a pogrom, the systematic intended extinction of Christianity in the nations that they control. And although many Christians will have fallen away from the Faith, because of all of the afflictions and difficulties of the 2010's and 2020's, the number of faithful Christians will still, at that time, be a large number.
As the massacre begins (2028/2029 to mid 2030's), and increases in severity, the U.S. and its Allies are in a quandary as to what to do. They know that the extremists have now gained control of many nuclear intercontinental ballistic missiles (fission/fusion type). They see no way to mount an effective conventional war. The extremists have heavily fortified their territory and have a very large number of troops. The U.S. and its Allies have the further disadvantage of being thousands of miles away from the occupied territories. Any conventional attack by the U.S. and its allies would be met with a nuclear missile attack in response. But the U.S. and its Allies are unwilling to use fission/fusion type nuclear weapons (based on plutonium or uranium) in a first strike; the resulting fall-out would kill millions of innocent persons, even if only military targets are struck. Yet the organized massacre of Christians in the occupied territories is increasing from an intolerable extent to an unimaginable extent. And the threat of a direct and unprovoked nuclear missile strike from the extremists is also very evident.
Furthermore, the Muslim extremists will intend to destroy Christianity worldwide, so that they can enforce their extremist version of Islam as the only religion in the world and so that they can have power over all nations (they think this is their destiny). Since they previously used nuclear weapons against major cities (New York in 2010; Rome in July of 2013), and they are massacring Christians by the millions, and they now have control over a large number of nuclear ICBMs, the threat is severe and undeniable. Their resolve is to completely destroy the Christian nations, especially the more powerful ones, such as the U.S.
If the U.S. does not act, millions of Christians will continue to be killed in the occupied territories. And next the extremists will happily make a massive nuclear strike against the U.S. and other nations, in order to destroy Christianity, so profound is their fear of the Faith and so extensive is their desire for power. Yes, they will be drunk with power, and they will think to conquer and control the whole world.
The only option is a nuclear first strike by the United States using a new weapon developed during the interwar period: the pure fusion weapon (PFW). This weapon achieves nuclear fusion without fission; no radioactive material is needed and the fall-out is almost zero. Also, such weapons can be made with a smaller yield (smaller explosive force), so the explosion can be limited to a smaller area. Using this weapon, the U.S. would be able to destroy a large number of the ICBMs of the extremists, but only if the U.S. makes a massive first strike with PFWs.
Now this decision, whether or not to go to war, is nothing other than a decision as to whether or not to make a massive nuclear first strike using the new (not well tested) PFWs. There is no other viable option. Any attack with conventional forces would be immediately met with a nuclear ICBM attack from the extremists to the U.S. and its Allies. But the morality of such a first strike by the U.S. is doubted by some. Fortunately, the very success of Catholic Christianity which terrifies the extremists is instead a shining beacon for the U.S. and its Allies. The U.S. decision is heavily influenced by the great Catholic monarch (GCM) and the Pope called the Angelic Shepherd (Pope Raphael), who rise to power about this time (during the mid 2020's). The Pope approves of the morality of this attack. The great Catholic monarch is a prominent political/military leader who also approves of the attack.
The nuclear first strike occurs in the mid 2030's; it begins in either 2033 or 2034. This first strike using PFWs is only partially successful. The extremists are able to launch a counterstrike. How effective it will be is uncertain. The U.S. and its Allies would be prudent to develop methods for intercepting such missiles and to deploy such capabilities on a massive scale; however, I don't know how prudent they will be. In any case, numerous nuclear missiles will be launched by the enemy.
World War 4 is very severe, the most severe war yet in the history of the world. Millions upon millions upon millions will be killed. Numerous cities will be entirely destroyed. The nuclear fall-out from the fission/fusion weapons of the enemy will be devastating. Survivors will flee the cities for the mountains and hills by the millions, without sufficient food, water, or shelter.
The description of this war in the Book of Revelation is fitting:

{6:12} And when he had opened the sixth seal, I saw, and behold, a great earthquake occurred. And the sun became black, like a haircloth sack, and the entire moon became like blood.
{6:13} And the stars from heaven fell upon the earth, just as when a fig tree, shaken by a great wind, drops its immature figs.
{6:14} And heaven receded, like a scroll being rolled up. And every mountain, and the islands, were moved from their places.
{6:15} And the kings of the earth, and the rulers, and the military leaders, and the wealthy, and the strong, and everyone, servant and free, hid themselves in caves and among the rocks of the mountains.
{6:16} And they said to the mountains and the rocks: “Fall over us and hide us from the face of the One sitting upon the throne, and from the wrath of the Lamb.
{6:17} For the great day of their wrath has arrived. And who will be able to stand?”
The great earthquake may be an actual earthquake, but it might also refer, figuratively, to the effect which nuclear bombs on the earth. The reference to the changing of color of the sun and moon means that there will be a nuclear winter: so much material will be tossed into the atmosphere by these nuclear explosions that the light from the sun and moon will be dimmed, and they will appear to change color. The figure of stars falling from heaven refers to the nuclear missiles, which are as hot as the surface of the sun when they explode. This image of a fig tree is like the image of a mushroom cloud, again referring to the nuclear explosions; the figs dropping represent the missiles.
Verse 14 figuratively indicates that the effects of this nuclear war will be global; the war itself is not global, only its effects. Then, because of the radioactive fall-out, the people of the earth will flee to the mountains and hills. Notice that they also acknowledge that this event is a punishment from God, the One sitting upon the throne in heaven, and from the Lamb, Jesus Christ.
As the war unfolds, many nuclear weapons are used. However, this is not a war between the U.S., Russia, and/or China (as many persons have incorrectly predicted). At Medjugorje, and also at Garabandal, the Virgin Mary said that there would not be a world war, meaning that there would not be a truly global war, where all major nations are involved, nor a war which brings all the superpowers against one another. This is a war between the U.S. and its Allies, and the extremists who previously conquered Europe during the previous war. Those two wars are called World Wars 3 and 4, however, they are world wars in one sense, but not in another.
The U.S. and its Allies are compelled by the threat of an imminent nuclear attack from the extremist Arab forces, and by the massacres of millions of Christians in the occupied territories, to go to war. The U.S. makes a nuclear first strike against the extremist Arab forces. This is followed by a conventional attack, by sea, air, and land. The Arab forces reply with a nuclear attack (using weapons that have much radioactive fallout). This war is the most devastating war that the human race will have ever seen. Many nuclear weapons are used by both sides. During the war, the extremists even use nuclear weapons within Europe, against one or more cities captured by the Allies.
The great monarch is the preeminent military leader among the Allies. He has the blessing of the holy Pope called the Angelic Shepherd (Pope Raphael/Zlatko Sudac). His troops are relatively few, but very devout. The soldiers of the Allies call upon the help of God and of His Angels and of the Virgin Mary. Otherwise, they would not succeed. They have great success through the help of prayer and self-denial. The War lasts about 3.5 to 4 years and occurs from about 2033/2034 to 2037. The Allies win the war, conquering the entire vast territory previously held by the Arab/Muslim extremists, conquering them even in their own nations, but at a great and terrible cost. The massacre of Christians ends, but the nuclear fall-out and nuclear winter begin.
The Seal of the Living God
Sometime in the mid to late 2030's, near the end or at the end of World War 4, the event described in chapter 7 of the Book of Revelation occurs:
{7:1} After these things, I saw four Angels standing above the four corners of the earth, holding the four winds of the earth, so that they would not blow upon the earth, nor upon the sea, nor upon any tree.
{7:2} And I saw another Angel ascending from the rising of the sun, having the Seal of the living God. And he cried out, in a great voice, to the four Angels to whom it was given to harm the earth and the sea,
{7:3} saying: “Do no harm to the earth, nor to the sea, nor to the trees, until we seal the servants of our God on their foreheads.”
{7:4} And I heard the number of those who were sealed: one hundred and forty-four thousand sealed, out of every tribe of the sons of Israel.
The Seal of the Living God is not given out prior to this time (except to the Angelic Shepherd). (Some false prophets have claimed that the Seal was given out through them, but this is not the case.) The Seal is given out by Angels, not by human persons, not by priests, and not as a result of particular devotions, prayers, or pilgrimages. The Seal is a visible sign on the foreheads of those sealed. (Centuries later, the Antichrist will perversely imitate this seal by marking his followers on the forehead or the hand with his own sign.) The Seal will be, for most persons, the symbol of a Cross on the forehead. However, this will vary somewhat from one person to another, for we are all unique creations of God. Those who receive the Seal also receive spiritual gifts and graces, and God's providential, and even at times miraculous, protection from the subsequent afflictions, those of the six Trumpets of the Seventh Seal. The gifts given will vary somewhat from one person to another, according to what is fitting to them and according to God's will.
The only person who receives the Seal prior to this time is the Angelic Shepherd. Currently (2007), the Angelic Shepherd is a humble priest from the shores of Croatia, Fr. Zlatko Sudac. In the mid to late 2020's, he will become Pope Raphael, the Angelic Shepherd, who works with the great Catholic monarch to heal the Church and the world. He received the Seal in 1999; it is the visible sign of the Cross on his forehead. The Seal is accompanied by spiritual gifts and graces for the soul, and Providential protection for the person sealed.
The number of persons sealed is symbolic, not literal. Men, women, and children will be sealed. Some few devout Jews and Muslims will be sealed; the visible sign of the Seal is not always a cross. Not every faithful Catholic Christian, and not every faithful servant of God, will be sealed. Many who are generally faithful and in a state of grace will not be sealed. Only certain faithful souls receive the Seal. I do not know how they are chosen by God, but they will be mostly Catholic Christians. Those without the Seal can still be saved and go to Heaven.
After World War 4
Very many human lives are lost in this war and in the massacre of Christians which preceded the war. More lives are lost than in all previous wars combined. The Allies win the war at great cost. Many cities are utterly destroyed. The U.S. is reduced from a superpower to a miserable and pitiable nation in a state of utter chaos. Europe is freed, but death is everywhere around them. The whole world will cry out woe, woe, woe!
Those who are holy and wise want the great monarch to rule over the vast territory formerly occupied by the extremist Arab forces. But the foolish of the world argue against this idea and ridicule those who believe; the media (what's left of them) support the foolish and argue against the reign of the great monarch. It seems certain and clear that this idea, to have the great monarch reign over the vast territory formerly held by the extremists, will not happen. But then the first six Trumpets of the Seventh Seal (which are the events of the tenth secret) occur. After the last event of the tenth secret (the three days of darkness), then the people will consent to let the great Catholic monarch rule them, and to let the Angelic Shepherd lead them.

The Tenth Secret
What: A sequence of severe afflictions sent by God as the final set of punishments for sin for this generation, namely, the first six Trumpets of the Seventh Seal of the Book of Revelation. (The seventh trumpet, which is the seven bowls of God's wrath, is for the distant future.)
Trumpet 1: Pieces of a broken comet fall to earth, burning up a third of the surface of the land and disturbing the waters
Trumpet 2: One large piece of the same comet falls into the ocean causing very great destruction worldwide
Trumpet 3: Nuclear fall-out from World War 4 is carried up into the atmosphere again, because of the fires from the comet pieces, and falls down for a second time, this time with greater severity and greater distribution.
Trumpet 4: A nuclear winter begins, not only because of World War 4, but also because of the fires from the comet pieces.
Trumpet 5: A supernatural suffering, figuratively described as locusts with scorpion tails, tortures all those on earth who do not have the Seal of the Living God; this affliction lasts for 153 days.
Trumpet 6: The Three Days of Darkness kills about one third of the entire human race worldwide.
When: After World War 4, and after the Seal of the Living God is given out to certain of the faithful, the events of the tenth secret occur: from sometime in 2038 through to the end of March in 2040 A.D.
Trumpet 1: In the year 2038.
Trumpet 2: In the year 2038.
Trumpet 3: Beginning in the year 2038 and continuing until the end of the three days of darkness in early 2040 A.D.
Trumpet 4: Beginning in the year 2038 and continuing until the end of the three days of darkness in early 2040 A.D.
Trumpet 5: For 153 days, beginning sometime on the day of Monday, November 8th of 2038, and continuing without respite until sometime on Saturday, April 9th of 2039 A.D. (The date of November 8th is the true historical date of the Immaculate Conception, and the date of April 9th is the true historical date of the first Easter, the day Christ rose from the dead.)
Trumpet 6: The Three Days of Darkness: March 29th, 30th, and 31st of 2040 A.D., which are Maundy Thursday, Good Friday, and Holy Saturday in the liturgical calendar. Easter Sunday of 2040 A.D. marks the end of the afflictions, the end of the nuclear winter and of the radioactivity, and the beginning of a time of peace, holiness, and rebuilding.
Who: Those who are given the Seal of the Living God will be protected from the majority of the sufferings sent by God, but they will not be entirely unable to suffer, nor will they be invulnerable; they are still mortal human beings able to die, but merely protected from certain events by the grace and providence of God. They are not infallible, but they have an understanding of the Faith that is above what most men possess.
Where: Worldwide without exception; no one will be safe, no matter where they live, except those with the Seal.
Why: God sends this set of punishments because the world is still largely unrepentant from its sins and from its contempt for the true holy Catholic faith, and because even many Catholics fail, in serious ways, to follow the most basic teachings of the Catholic Church. God sends these afflictions in order to make the world submissive to the teachings and guidance of the Church.
Introduction
The Seventh Seal is described in the Bible in the Book of Revelation, beginning with chapter 8. The Seventh Seal is divided into Seven Trumpets, which represent seven sets of events. The Seventh Trumpet is divided into Seven Bowls of God's wrath. All of these events will occur in their numbered ordered. But there is also a break in the series of events, so that, after the Sixth Trumpet occurs, there will be a respite from suffering, and then a long period of time (several centuries), before the events of the Seventh Trumpet (i.e. the Seven Bowls of God's wrath) are released upon the world.
The Visionaries of Medjugorje have repeatedly said that the tenth secret is very terrible, and that it required a long time for the Virgin Mary to explain to them. This accords with Sacred Scripture, which divides the Seventh Seal into a sequence of very terrible events. Some of the earlier Seals take only a verse or two to present, but the Trumpets of the Seventh Seal require many verses.
Now some foolish persons think that the secrets of Medjugorje and Garabandal are not in Sacred Scripture. How could this be? Do you not know that Sacred Scripture was written for the faithful of every generation, including this one? Do you really think that God would plan such a terrible sequence of events without warning His faithful servants in His Book, the Bible? I tell you that all the secrets are found within Sacred Scripture, at least in a hidden way. This will become clear to all as the events unfold.
Do you think that all the visionaries, once they have each received the tenth secret, will have been given the same exact information, in the same way? Not possible. For the Virgin Mary speaks to each person according to what is fitting to them, as unique creations of God. And this is but a weak reflection of the way that God speaks to each and very person according to their own uniqueness, which He knows fully since they are His creation. Therefore, each of the visionaries was given a somewhat different understanding of the tenth secret (and of the other secrets as well, but more so with this long and complex set of events). Different parts of the secret may have been emphasized for different visionaries. One may know one set of facts about this secret, and another may know a different, but overlapping set of facts. And their own personal understanding of the secret is also unique to each one.
False Prophets and the Seal of the Living God
Some false prophets, such as Christina Gallagher, and also Barnabas Nwoye, and perhaps others, have claimed that the Seal of the Living God has already been given out. Gallagher claimed that it was given out to visitors to her House of Prayer. Nwoye claimed it was given out to those who practiced a certain devotion and said certain prayers. Both of their claims are entirely false. Neither of these alleged visionaries will ever have the Seal, nor have either ever been able to give out the Seal.
The only person so far who has received the Seal of the Living God is the Angelic Shepherd, Fr. Zlatko Sudac. The Seal includes a visible sign which miraculously appears on the forehead of all who receive the Seal. It also includes gifts of exceptional grace, providence, and effectiveness in prayer to God. Those who do not have the Seal will be tormented during the time of the tenth secret; those who have the Seal are chosen by God to teach and to guide the rest of the world during this difficult time.
The Tenth Secret in Sacred Scripture
1. First Trumpet of the Seventh Seal
{8:7} And the first Angel sounded the trumpet. And there came hail and fire, mixed with blood; and it was cast down upon the earth. And a third part of the earth was burned, and a third part of the trees was entirely burned up, and all the green plants were burned.
In the year 2038, a comet which will have previously broken into pieces (probably Comet Tempel 1) will approach the earth. Many of its medium and smaller sized pieces will fall to the earth. Comets are frozen like hail, but they burn with fire as they pass through the atmosphere. This event will affect a third of the earth's inhabited land mass. An extremely large number of human lives will be lost, and there will also be great destruction to society, the economy, buildings, infrastructure, to plants and animals, and to the environment. The fires that are ignited by these comet pieces stir up the radioactive fall-out from World War 4 and throw it back into the atmosphere, spreading the radioactivity much more broadly than before. The waters of the earth will also be struck by pieces of this comet, causing disturbances and destruction along the shorelines.
2. Second Trumpet of the Seventh Seal
{8:8} And the second Angel sounded the trumpet. And something like a great mountain, burning with fire, was cast down into the sea. And a third part of the sea became like blood.
{8:9} And a third part of the creatures that were living in the sea died. And a third part of the ships were destroyed.
In the year 2038, one of the larger pieces of this same broken comet will fall into the ocean. This will cause great devastation at sea and will cause huge tidal waves to inundate areas near the shore. Very many more human lives will be lost; very many ships and many coastal cities will be utterly destroyed; many fish will die. This large piece of the comet will also throw up, even into the upper atmosphere, some fine particles and much water vapor, reducing the sunlight that can reach the earth. And even though this large piece of the comet strikes only one ocean, the effects are worldwide, because of the size and force with which it strikes.
3. Third Trumpet of the Seventh Seal
{8:10} And the third Angel sounded the trumpet. And a great star fell from heaven, burning like a torch. And it fell upon a third part of the rivers and upon the sources of water.
{8:11} And the name of the star is called Wormwood. And a third part of the waters were turned into wormwood. And many men died from the waters, because they were made bitter.
This star burning like a torch refers to the radioactive fallout from certain nuclear weapons (those made using plutonium or uranium) used in World War IV (the Sixth Seal). Now some of the radioactivity falls locally, soon after a nuclear missile strikes, but additional radioactivity is tossed high into the atmosphere, all during the War. Radioactivity from nuclear weapons takes time to circulate around the world, and then to fall slowly to earth. Some of this radioactivity falls into the ocean, some on to the land.
However, the main source of the radioactivity at this time is the events of the first two Trumpets. The fires caused by the comet pieces striking the land carry radioactive material from the land into the atmosphere, where it is next removed from the atmosphere by rain. Thus it makes numerous sources of water unusable. Then one particularly large comet piece strikes the ocean, causing a huge quantity of ocean water, with its radioactivity, to be raised up into the atmosphere. Again, it falls back to the earth's surface in rainwater. As a result, very many human lives will be lost, due to the radioactivity in the water.
4. Fourth Trumpet of the Seventh Seal
{8:12} And the fourth Angel sounded the trumpet. And a third part of the sun, and a third part of the moon, and a third part of the stars were struck, in such a way that a third part of them was obscured. And a third part of the day did not shine, and similarly the night.
This decrease in the amount of light coming from the Sun and moon and stars is caused by a nuclear winter, which results not only from the nuclear weapons used in World War IV (the Sixth Seal), but also from the huge number of fires caused by the falling pieces of the comet (the First Trumpet), and also from the material thrown up into the atmosphere by the one large piece of the same comet (the Second Trumpet). As a result of this reduced sunlight, temperatures will fall, especially in latitudes further away from the equator, crops will fail very widely, and food will be very scarce. This nuclear winter occurs from sometime in 2038, throughout all of 2039, and does not end until the end of the three days of darkness in 2040.
5. Fifth Trumpet of the Seventh Seal
{9:1} And the fifth Angel sounded the trumpet. And I saw upon the earth, a star that had fallen from heaven, and the key to the well of the abyss was given to him.
{9:2} And he opened the well of the abyss. And the smoke of the well ascended, like the smoke of a great furnace. And the sun and the air were obscured by the smoke of the well.
{9:3} And locusts went forth from the smoke of the well into the earth. And power was given to them, like the power that the scorpions of the earth have.
{9:4} And it was commanded of them that they must not harm the plants of the earth, nor anything green, nor any tree, but only those men who do not have the Seal of God upon their foreheads.
{9:5} And it was given to them that they would not kill them, but that they would torture them for five months. And their torture was like the torture of a scorpion, when he strikes a man.
{9:6} And in those days, men will seek death and they will not find it. And they will desire to die, and death will flee from them.
{9:7} And the likenesses of the locusts resembled horses prepared for battle. And upon their heads were something like crowns similar to gold. And their faces were like the faces of men.
{9:8} And they had hair like the hair of women. And their teeth were like the teeth of lions.
{9:9} And they had breastplates like iron breastplates. And the noise of their wings was like the noise of many running horses, rushing to battle.
{9:10} And they had tails similar to scorpions. And there were stingers in their tails, and these had the power to harm men for five months.
{9:11} And they had over them a king, the Angel of the abyss, whose name in Hebrew is Doom; in Greek, Destroyer; in Latin, Exterminator.
{9:12} One woe has gone out, but behold, there are still two woes approaching afterward.
These 'locusts' are not real locusts, but rather some type of entirely supernatural affliction, figuratively referred to as locusts. This affliction comes from the 'well of the abyss,' that is, from Hell. These figurative locusts are not a result of the previous Seals or Trumpets; it is not the affliction of radioactive fallout, nor of nuclear winter, nor of any natural disaster, nor of any man-made object.
The three woes are the fifth, sixth, and seventh Trumpets, each of which differs from the previous Trumpets and Seals because the woes are the result, not of natural disasters, nor of human actions, but of the intervention of God and His Angels. Therefore, the fifth Trumpet is not the result of events of nature, nor of human endeavor. This supernatural causality is what distinguishes the three woes from the other events.
Here is my understanding of when the five months will occur. The five months of this affliction occurs from late 2038 to early 2039. It begins sometime on the day of November 8th, the true date of the Immaculate Conception of the Virgin Mary. It continues unabated for 153 days, the number of Hail Mary's in the Rosary, up to and including April 9th, which is the true date of the Resurrection of Jesus Christ on the first Easter Sunday. In 2038, November 8th is a Monday; so the faithful may be able to attend Mass on the day before (though this will be difficult or impossible for many), a Sunday, or at least to worship God undisturbed. Then the five months of this affliction will begin, at some hour during the day of Monday, November 8th, of 2038.
Those who have the Seal of God will be spared from this affliction. The Seal will have been given in the mid to late 2030's, near the end of the great monarch's war (World War IV). The Seal includes a visible sign on the forehead, which for most persons will be an image of the cross; it will vary from person to person in its exact form. The Seal includes inner graces for the spirit and soul, as well as God's Providential protection of the body. Those who have the Seal will be known by the visible sign on their foreheads, and by their wisdom and prudence, by their insight into faith and morals, by the power of their prayers, and by their protection from this affliction.
In this way, those with the Seal will be able to prevail in any argument about the true beliefs and holy practices of the Catholic faith. Those members of the faithful who are in error will not be able to prevail, because they will lack the Seal. And persons immersed in sinful secular society will be rebuked by the fact that they are tormented for five months, whereas those with the Seal both are free from this affliction and are rebuking them for their false beliefs and sinful practices. (This event is a foreshadowing of the time, hundreds of years later, when the two prophets of the Book of Revelation preach to the world with impunity from attacks by evil persons, and accompanied by signs and wonders from God, so that the world will believe what they are teaching.)
During these 153 days, those without the Seal will be punished by this affliction, but those with the Seal will teach by word and example. All persons of good will and good conscience will listen to them. They will have great success in correcting errors and leading people away from false or erroneous teachings and from unholy or improper practices.
This time period is no empty punishment; it is ordained by God for the instruction of those who are afflicted. The number 153 teaches them that the Rosary is a powerful prayer to God. I think that those who do not have the Seal, but who pray the Rosary devoutly anytime during these 153 days, will be free from the affliction of the locusts, but only during the time that they are praying the Rosary. The reason for this respite is to make it absolutely crystal clear to the whole world that God wants every soul on earth to pray the Rosary daily.
The Seal on those who are closer to God, and who understand the Faith better than most, instructs the world as to whom they should listen to when seeking the truth about faith and morals and salvation. This arrangement ends many arguments that seem unceasing, as to which idea to believe and which to reject.
The five months of this affliction will end on its 153rd day, on April 9th of 2039, holy Saturday (the day after Good Friday in that year). Then the faithful will be able to attend Mass on the day after the affliction ends, that is, on Sunday, (though this will be difficult or impossible for many). So the five months is actually 153 days and it begins after a Sunday, sometime during the day of November 8th, the true date of the Immaculate Conception, and it ends before a Sunday, sometime during the day of April 9th, the true date of the Resurrection of Jesus Christ. This is my understanding of the timing of this event.
6. Sixth Trumpet of the Seventh Seal
{9:12} One woe has gone out, but behold, there are still two woes approaching afterward.
{9:13} And the sixth Angel sounded the trumpet. And I heard a lone voice from the four horns of the golden altar, which is before the eyes of God,
{9:14} saying to the sixth Angel who had the trumpet: “Release the four Angels who were bound at the great river Euphrates.”
{9:15} And the four Angels were released, who had been prepared for that hour, and day, and month, and year, in order to kill one third part of men.
{9:16} And the number of the army of horsemen was two hundred million. For I heard their number.
{9:17} And I also saw the horses in the vision. And those who were sitting upon them had breastplates of fire and hyacinth and sulphur. And the heads of the horses were like the heads of lions. And from their mouths proceeded fire and smoke and sulphur.
{9:18} And one third part of men were slain by these three afflictions: by the fire and by the smoke and by the sulphur, which proceeded from their mouths.
{9:19} For the power of these horses is in their mouths and in their tails. For their tails resemble serpents, having heads; and it is with these that they cause harm.
{9:20} And the rest of men, who were not slain by these afflictions, did not repent from the works of their hands, so that they would not worship demons, or idols of gold and silver and brass and stone and wood, which can neither see, nor hear, nor walk.
{9:21} And they did not repent from their murders, nor from their drugs, nor from their fornication, nor from their thefts.
The Sixth Trumpet is the same as that event known as the Three Days of Darkness. This event is described in Sacred Scripture in a number of different books.

During the Three Days of Darkness:
a) No light from the sun or the moon or the stars will reach anyone on earth.
b) No electrical devices will work: neither lights, nor devices.
c) Only blessed candles, lit by persons who have true faith and grace, will give light, and perhaps also blessed objects.
d) The wicked will have no light at all, except that they will see the fires of Hell and the grieving souls there.
e) All those who are outdoors when these three days begin will be killed supernaturally.
f) Anyone who opens a door or window, or who goes outside during these three days, will be killed supernaturally.
g) One third of the entire earth's population will be killed during these three days.
h) The length of time is not 72 hours, but rather three days, minus one night.
i) The entire planet will be healed during those three days, including ending the nuclear winter and removing the radioactivity.
The Timing of the Three Days of Darkness
According to Marie Julie Jahenny, the three days of darkness will occur on a Thursday, Friday, and Saturday, and will last for three days less one night.
The Three Days of Darkness will occur over the course of the following three days:
1. Maundy Thursday, March 29, 2040
2. Good Friday, March 30, 2040
3. Holy Saturday, March 31, 2040
Sometime during the night between Holy Saturday and Easter Sunday, the stars will come out. Then, on the morning of Easter Sunday, those who have survived with come out of their houses. The world before those three days will have been in dire straits. Radioactive fallout, nuclear winter, utter devastation from war and civil unrest, and the effects of all of the events of the first part of the tribulation will have nearly destroyed the planet.
But then, after the three days is over, people will realize that God has healed the whole world during those three days. Just as Christ healed the world through his Passion, Death, and Resurrection, similarly will these three days, which coincide with the remembrance of Christ's Passion and Death, also heal the world. There will be no radioactive fallout left and the nuclear winter will be suddenly and miraculously over. The sun will shine, and the weather will be warm and agreeable for the season. The infrastructure of sinful secular society will still remain in ruins. But the earth will bear its fruits, grains, and vegetables in abundance, and the water will be clean and pure.
Even so, this time of relative peace and holiness (after the three days of darkness) will not be without its difficulties. As is clear from Rev. 9:20-21, some sinners who survive those three days will be unrepentant. And as is clear from Wisdom 19:3, some will try to blame political leaders, and will try to do violence after those three days (but they will not succeed). But the faithful will mourn and bury the dead, and the faithful will win out in decisions of authority, teaching, and leadership in society and in the Church and in the family. The great monarch will begin his reign of peace and holiness over the vast territory conquered formerly by the Arab/Muslim nations (Europe, Scandinavia, Eastern Europe, the Middle East, and northern Africa).
The holy Pope of that time is called the Angelic Shepherd; he is Pope Raphael (Zlatko Sudac). He will reign over the Church with great holiness and a firm guiding hand. He will teach the whole world, not merely Catholics. The Church, and even humble individual Catholics worldwide, will have great influence over society in general. People will be in awe at the teachings and the signs and wonders associated with the Catholic Christian faith. He will guide the healing of the whole world, with the assistance of the great Catholic monarch.
7. The Seventh Trumpet of the Seventh Seal is for the distant future.
This set of afflictions does not occur until the 25th century A.D. These afflictions include the Seven Bowls of God's Wrath described in the Book of Revelation. This future time period also includes the Antichrist's reign of nearly seven years and his severe persecution of the Church. But all this waits for a future time and a future generation. These events of the distant future are foreshadowed by the First Six Seals and the First Six Trumpets of the Seventh Seal, but these last events of the Seventh Seal will be even worse and even more severe.
Information about the Secrets of Garabandal
Some corrections about the prophecies of Garabandal
The Virgin Mary has appeared, in a true private revelation, to four children of Garabandal. They were told secrets about the future, which are usually summarized as: The Warning, The Miracle, and The Punishment. I am writing this page to correct some false things that have been said about these secrets.
It is not true that the Miracle will happen within 12 months of the Warning. These two events will occur more than 12 months apart.
The Virgin Mary said that the Miracle will occur on the feast day of a martyr of the Eucharist, on a Thursday, coinciding with an event in the Church. It is possible to figure out the date of the Miracle from this information.
Conchita said: "It will happen between the months of February and July and it will be between the 7th and the 17th, but I will not tell you which year." This statement by Conchita about the Miracle is entirely correct.
Some have claimed that they know the month of the Miracle, but not the day. They are mistaken. Their reasons for narrowing the date to one month is based on misunderstandings and false assumptions.
The idea that the Chastisement (or punishment) can be completely averted by conversion and prayer is incorrect. The idea that the Chastisement can be mitigated by prayer is more or less correct, but only from a human point of view. From our point of view within Time, it seems that future events are altered by God in answer to our prayers. This is true, from our point of view within Time. But God is present throughout all Time and beyond Time. To God, past, present, and future are the same. From God's point of view, the future does not change in answer to our prayers. Rather, God has already taken all prayers throughout Time into account in His plan for future events. Our prayers are effective even beyond the limits of Time because God is beyond all limits.
Note added August 21, 2005:
It is said that, after Pope John 23rd, there would be only three more Popes before the events predicted at Garabandal would begin. This is true, but often misunderstood. It does not mean that there will be only three more Popes ever. After John 23, there was Paul 6, John Paul 1 and John Paul 2. Therefore, the events predicted at Garabandal will begin during the reign of the current Pope: Benedict 16.
The Warning will occur during the reign of Pope Benedict 16.
Also, the Miracle will occur more than a year, but less than a year and a half, after the Warning.
Of course, Pope Benedict 16 is not the last Pope. There will be many more Popes after him. The events predicted at Garabandal begin during his reign, but they continue into the reign of subsequent Popes.
Note added August 25, 2005:
Some extraordinary events that occur soon after the Warning are not that particular Miracle called 'the Miracle'.
The Chastisement will occur many years after the Miracle.
Note added December 20, 2005:
It is said that the Miracle will coincide with an event in the Church, one that has happened a few times in the past, but not since Conchita was born (she was born in 1949).
Note added December 31, 2005:
It is said that the Virgin Mary told Conchita that there will never be a world war, that there will be wars between countries, but not a global conflict.
It is true that no war will ever involve the whole world, even when (in the early 25th century) the Antichrist comes to power. However, World Wars I and II are still called world wars, even though they did not involve the whole world. And Scripture clearly describes extensive wars that have not yet occurred, e.g. in the Book of Daniel chapters 8 and 11, and in the Book of Revelation, the first and sixth of the Seven Seals. Therefore, there will be a war correctly called World War 3, and another war correctly called World War 4, even though these will not be completely worldwide in scope.

Introduction: The Virgin Mary has appeared, in a true private revelation, to six visionaries of Medujorje. Each is given ten secrets. Some of the secrets are the same for each of the visionaries and some are different. Some of the secrets are personal, not meant for the Church and the world; other secrets are meant for the whole world. The comments below refer only to those secrets which are for the whole Church and the whole world. Each of the ten secrets will begin in the lifetime of this generation. Each of the ten secrets has a comprehensive and profound effect on the Church on earth and the world. Each of the ten secrets is found, in some form, in Sacred Scripture, including the Old Testament.
Point of View: I generally understand what the secrets are and when they will occur; this understanding comes from my study of the Bible and my understanding of private revelation (though I have never received any private revelation myself). If the world had faith, if the members of the Church on earth had more faith, then these events would not be secret; everyone would know them through Tradition and Scripture, through faith and grace. I think it is silly that the visionaries are able to keep these things secret, when they are available to be understood through Scripture, faith, and grace. I think that, as the secrets unfold, more and more people will understand what the remaining secrets are.
1. The first secret has been said to involve an upheaval in a region of the world. But actually, the upheaval of a particular region is merely one of many effects of the first secret, whose scope is worldwide. The first secret has a salutary effect on the Church as a whole. It is not a natural or supernatural disaster. It is not intended by God to cause death, although some deaths will result, because we are sinners. It relates to the human person.
2. The second secret will occur soon after the first secret. Like all ten secrets, this secret is worldwide in scope. It relates to the human person. It is not political. It is not a natural or supernatural disaster. This secret will be understood by the faithful as a blessing, not a curse. The impious will react with fear and astonishment.
3. The third secret will occur more than a year after the first secret. It relates to the human person. The visionaries have said that, at the time of this secret, a permanent sign will be left at Medjugorje. There will also be permanent signs in other places. But the secret itself is not merely a permanent sign. It is a blessing on the human person.
The first three secrets are closely related. They are each intended by God to be a blessing for humanity. They are a blessing even for persons who are non-Catholic or non-Christian or even non-religious. The first three secrets are blessing for those who have faith, but, for the faithless and impious, they are a source of fear and confusion.
4. The fourth secret takes years to unfold; it begins within a year or two after the third secret. It is worldwide in scope. It is not a natural disaster. It is not a supernatural disaster or event. But it is disastrous. Very many people will die as a result. Yet it is the will of God.
5. The fifth secret takes years to unfold; it begins soon after the fourth secret and gets worse as time passes. It ends soon after the fourth secret ends. Many people will die or be seriously injured as a result. It is not a supernatural disaster or event. This secret occurs because of our sinfulness. God's plan does not require it.
6. The sixth secret begins within a few years after the fourth secret begins. The sixth secret unfolds over several years. The sixth secret ends a few years after the fourth secret ends. It is severe and widespread, affecting the much of the world, some areas more than others. In general, the wealthy will suffer more than the poor. It is not a supernatural disaster or event. Many people will suffer; some will die.
7. The seventh secret overlaps the fourth, fifth, and sixth secrets. It increases in severity and then dimishes in severity. It does not have a clear starting point or ending point. It is not a supernatural disaster or event. Many people will die. It is said to have been mitigated by prayer, but in no case can it be completely prevented.
8. The eighth secret occurs much later than the previous secrets. There is a space of several years between the end of the seventh secret and the beginning of the eighth secret. The eighth secret is not a natural disaster. It is not a supernatural disaster or event. Many good people will die. More good people will die than bad people.
9. The ninth secret takes a few years to unfold; it begins within a few years after the eighth secret. It is worldwide in scope. It is not a natural disaster. It is not a supernatural disaster or event. But it is disastrous. Very many people will die as a result. Yet it is the will of God. The ninth secret is related to the fourth secret, but the ninth secret is far worse than the fourth secret.
10. The tenth secret is not the end of the world. It begins soon after the ninth secret. It is worse than all the sufferings of the other nine secrets put together and results in more deaths than all the other secrets put together. But it is not the end of the world. More bad people will die than good people, but very many people, both bad and good, will die.
On the mitigation of future sufferings through prayer:From our point of view within Time, it seems that future events are altered by God in answer to our prayers. This is true, from our point of view within Time. But God is present throughout all Time and beyond Time. To God, past, present, and future are the same. From God's point of view, the future does not change in answer to our prayers. Rather, God has already taken all prayers throughout Time into account in His plan for future events. Our prayers are effective even beyond the limits of Time because God is beyond all limits.

The Dates and Events of the Secrets
The secrets of Medjugorje and Garabandal describe the first part of the tribulation, which is a set of events intended by God to change the Church and the world for the better and to punish the world for its sins. So stubborn and sinful are we that even this series of events does not completely end the reign of sin in the world, and so a second part of the tribulation is reserved for the distant future.
I. The Secrets of Garabandal
1. The Warning: a miraculous call by God to repentance and conversion; Good Friday, April 10th of 2009.
2. The Miracle: a miraculous gift of healings and conversions to many persons, and Permanent Signs in many places; Ascension Thursday, May 13th of 2010.
3. The Chastisement: the same as the Three Days of Darkness, which is the last event for this generation described by the secrets of Medjugorje; March 29th, 30th, and 31st of 2040 A.D., which is Maundy Thursday, Good Friday, and Holy Saturday in that year.
II. The Secrets of Medjugorje
1. The First Secret: same as the Warning of Garabandal; Good Friday, April 10th of 2009; also called the Day of Repentance.
2. The Second Secret: a miraculous gift of consolation to those who repented; Easter Sunday, April 12th of 2009; also called the Day of Consolation.
3. The Third Secret: same as the Miracle of Garabandal; Ascension Thursday, May 13th of 2010; also called the Day of Healing.
4. The Fourth Secret: World War 3, which is the First Horseman and the First of the Seven Seals in the Book of Revelation; beginning sometime in 2010 (with a nuclear bomb explosion in New York City) and winding down from 2017 to 2019.
5. The Fifth Secret: worldwide severe civil violence and civil disorder, which is the Second Horseman and the Second Seal; occurring during the time of the fourth secret.
6. The Sixth Secret: the Great Famine, affecting wealthy nations much more than poor nations; which is the Third Horseman and the Third Seal, and which begins in mid 2013 (with a nuclear missile strike against Rome) and ends about mid 2020.
7. The Seventh Secret: widespread death from a variety of causes; the Fourth Horseman and the Fourth Seal. This affliction was lessened by prayer and self-denial and conversion, so that one of the causes of death has been averted, but the other causes remain; these deaths occur during, and largely because of, the fourth, fifth, and sixth secrets.
8. The Eight Secret: a great martyrdom of Christians, which is the Fifth Seal. This martyrdom is like the Jewish holocaust, but with mainly Christians being killed; most of those killed are in the territory conquered by the Arab/Muslim extremists during World War 3. There will be a continuous persecution of Christians in the occupied territory, increasing in severity with time, but the actual event of the great martyrdom, in its main body, occurs from about 2028/2029 to the mid 2030's.
9. The Ninth Secret: World War 4, which is an all-out nuclear war and the Sixth Seal in the Book of Revelation; beginning about 2033 or 2034, and lasting about three and a half to four years, until 2037.
10. The Tenth Secret: the set of events described in the Book of Revelation as the first Six Trumpets of the Seventh Seal; from 2038 to early 2040.
A list of the events contained within the tenth secret of Medjugorje:
1st Trumpet: Many pieces of a broken comet will fall to earth, burning up a third of its land, and causing great disturbances in its oceans: in the year 2038.
2nd Trumpet: One large piece of that same comet will fall into an ocean, causing massive destruction in that ocean, and in the coastal areas, and even to some extent in other oceans: in the year 2038.
3rd Trumpet: Radioactive fallout from World War 4, which had previously fallen, is stirred up again by the comets and their fires, and so it falls again, more extensively this time, contaminating one third of the drinkable water of the earth: beginning in the year 2038 and continuing through 2039 and the first three months of 2040.
4th Trumpet: Nuclear Winter caused, not only by World War 4, but by the fires of the comet pieces and by material thrown into the atmosphere by the one large piece of the comet: beginning in the year 2038 and continuing through 2039 and the first three months of 2040.
5th Trumpet: An affliction on those who do not have the Seal of the Living God given out near the end of World War 4. This affliction lasts for about 5 months, that is, for 153 days, beginning sometime on November 8th in 2038 and continuing unabated until sometime on Holy Saturday of April 9th in 2039 A.D. (November 8th is the historical date of the Immaculate Conception. April 9th is the historical date of the first Easter.)
6th Trumpet: The Three Days of Darkness, March 29th (Maundy Thursday), March 30 (Good Friday), and March 31 (Holy Saturday) of 2040 A.D.
By Easter morning of April 1st in 2040 A.D., the secrets and the afflictions for this generation will have been completed, and the earth will have been healed during the three days of darkness of the harm done to it by the previous afflictions. By a miracle of God, due to the intercession of the Virgin Mary and the prayers and self-denial of the world during those three days, the nuclear winter will have ended, the radioactive fallout will be gone, and the earth will now have mild seasons and abundant fruits for many years.
As for the 7th Trumpet, which is also called the Seven Bowls of God's Wrath, that is for the distant future, in the 25th century, during the second part of the tribulation.
Mistaken Ideas about the Secrets

A. that communism will rise up prior to the beginning of the secrets
Conchita (visionary of Garabandal) has said: “When communism comes again everything will happen.” And the Virgin Mary has spoken about this return of communism in other private revelations, such as those to Fr. Gobbi. But Mary is not referring to political communism, but rather to spiritual communism.
Spiritual communism is a kind of false equality which denies the uniqueness of each individual, denies different roles for men and women, denies different roles for ordained and non-ordained persons, or for deacons versus priests versus bishops, denies that there are absolute truths (all opinions are said to be equal), denies different roles based on age, denies different roles based on the will of God for each person. Instead, spiritual communism promotes the idea that anyone can take any role and that all opinions are of equal value. This idea denigrates the uniqueness of each human person, and the fittingness of roles given to different persons based on differences of gender, age, and ability. It also gives incorrect or false opinions the same standing as truth. It is a false equality, a false claim of fairness. This is spiritual communism.
Yet in practice, just as in political communism, even this false idea of equality is not realized. In spiritual communism, it is said that anyone can take any role, if they have the gifts for that role given by God. But in practice people take roles of authority, leadership, and teaching, even when they are clearly unfit for those roles. They teach, though they do not understand; they lead, though they lead badly; they exercise authority for themselves and not for Christ. And each one strives to be to be above his or her peers, while still claiming that all are equal. So each one uses the will of God as an excuse to do his or her own will. This, too, is spiritual communism.
Spiritual communism has its roots in secular society, but today it has even had a substantial effect on the members of the Church. This false idea of equality reaches even to the extent that the distinction between the roles of the ordained and of the non-ordained, and between the roles of men and women, within the Church, is being eroded. The end result of this spiritual communism in the Church is that women think that they can be priests and bishops, and non-ordained persons think that they can take the roles of the ordained, and deacons act as if they were priests or bishops, and lay persons take roles for which they themselves are unfit.
In spiritual communism, for example, women are said to be equal in such a way as to have the same roles as men; this is one false idea. Yet in practice, women sometimes also use this false version of equality to become exalted above men, taking this false idea one step further. All manner of negative things are said about men in general, and all manner of positive things are said about women in general. The ostensible goal of this approach is to give women equality, but the end result is that women are seen as if they were holier than men, or less prone to sin than men, or more ethical than men, or better leaders than men: as if the feminine gender were inherently better than the male gender. The equality that this idea of spiritual communism claims is a false equality; and those who claim it fall far short of even their own incorrect ideas.
This type of communism is already in the world and among the members of the Church. It will increase as the beginning of the tribulation unfolds, to the extent that some persons will even try to set up a false church, to compete with the true Catholic Church, and will elect a false pope (a well-meaning but misguided antipope). In this false church, they will claim to ordain women as priests and bishops; they will claim that a woman bishop can ordain a man; they will have a Eucharist that is often times invalid; they will change the Mass in ways that are offensive to God. This has its beginning during the reign of the next Pope after Pope Benedict XVI, and it reaches its height in the period after that next Pope is martyred. The time frame for this set of events is the early to mid 2010's.
B. that the seventh secret of Medjugorje has been taken away
Some persons have claimed that the seventh secret of Medjugorje has been completely taken away by prayer and sacrifice. Not so! The seventh secret of Medjugorje is a set of events; only one of those afflictions has been taken away by prayer and sacrifice. And it is not possible for any of the secrets to be completely avoided by any means. Too many sins have piled up in the recent decades for these afflictions to be completely avoided, even by prayer and self-denial and works of mercy. Nor is it possible for these events to be delayed. These events will each occur at their appointed time.
C. Beware of false secrets from false prophets!
Many persons have been mislead by various claimed visionaries and seers whose apparitions and messages are not from Heaven, but instead are from fallen angels.
Already, many of these false prophets have been spreading distorted and false explanations of the Warning and of other future events. As the secrets begin, they will lose much of their following, but some of them will still try to continue promoting their false messages and false ideas. Be careful who you listen to!
D. that this time period will see the end of private revelation
There are two types of private revelation.
The first and most common type is truly private: revelations from God to particular individual for their own personal benefit. Many Saints have received this type of private revelation. Many ordinary devout Catholics have had one experience or another that qualifies as a kind of private revelation, giving them as individuals direction in their own life. For example, a nun gave a talk once in which she explained why she became a nun, saying that she prayed intensely and heard a voice telling her (in one brief phrase or sentence) to become a nun. That was the entire private revelation. Such truly personal private revelations will never cease.
The second type of private revelation, which has been uncommon throughout much of Church history, but which has increased sharply in recent decades, consists of messages and signs for the whole world, not just for the individual who receives them. This type of private revelation is given at Fatima, Medjugorje, Garabandal, La Salette, and many other places.
This type of private revelation for the world will cease when the first part of the tribulation ceases, because it will no longer be necessary: all the afflictions appointed for this generation will have been completed. The world will have become much holier and much more willing to seek truth from the Church. The events and past messages of private revelation will remain as witnesses to the truth.
(I myself have not received any private revelation of any kind.)
E. that one of the secrets is the approval or disapproval of the secrets of Medjugorje
There are ten secrets for the world, none of these is the approval or disapproval of Medjugorje. From now until the secrets begin, Medjugorje will remain largely unapproved.
Of course, many Bishops permit their priests and parishes to go to Medjugorje. Priests who go there use parish funds (which are monitored by the diocese), and the Bishops do not prevent them. This is a kind of limited approval. The Bishop of Mostar has given a limited disapproval, but this is not the final word of the Church. There is hope among many devotees of Medjugorje that the Church will approve of Medjugorje before the secrets begin. But I don't think that there will be any definitive approval before the secrets begin. The Church cannot approve, in any definitive way, of apparitions and messages which are still continuing.
Once the secrets begin, it will become clear to nearly everyone that Medjugorje is true. The false private revelations don't know the future. But the true ones do. So when the visionaries announce the secrets in advance, and then they occur, this will indicate clearly to the leaders of the Church that Medjugorje is true. After that, approval will be a mere formality, but such formalities will take more time than they should.
F. that the end of the secrets is the end of the world
The secrets do not announce the end of the world, but rather the time of the first part of the tribulation. All of these secrets take place for this generation. However, the tenth secret, being the first six trumpets of the seventh seal in the Book of Revelation, anticipates that future time, during the second part of the tribulation, when the events of the seventh trumpet of the seventh seal will be unleashed upon the unrepentant wicked. So in one sense, the tenth secret is completed during this generation, but in another sense it points to a time in the distant future, when another set of afflictions will fall upon the world.
It is the future time, the time of the second part of the tribulation (in the 25th century), which contains the Antichrist's reign, the Return of Jesus Christ, and the end of the reign of sin on earth (but not the end of the world).
G. that the third secret is nothing other than the permanent sign
The permanent sign occurs in conjunction with the events of the third secret, in other words, it is part of the third secret. But the main blessing of the third secret is the healings and conversions that will occur in very many persons around the world.
H. that the Miracle will occur within 12 months of the Warning
This false idea is the result of a misunderstanding by one of the visionaries of Garabandal.
It is not so unusual, within true private revelations from God, or from Mary, to find some minor errors. These errors cannot be the result of God or anyone in Heaven making a mistake; God is infallible and all the Blessed in Heaven are also free from error due to their Beatific Vision of God. But the one receiving the private revelation can misunderstand, and anyone who is writing down or repeating the private revelation is also subject to possible error. Thus the Church considers even true private revelations to be fallible.
The visionary of Garabandal named Mari-Loli has said that the Miracle will happen within one year after The Warning; this has been widely interpreted to mean within 12 calendar months. But to my knowledge, Mari-Loli has never quoted the Virgin Mary word for word on that point; in fact, she has said that she can't quite remember when Mary spoke about this to her. Mary may have said that the Miracle occurs about a year after the Warning, or in the next calendar year, or some other similar wording. We don't have the exact quote; Mari-Loli apparently cannot remember the exact words.
Furthermore, Mari-Loli admits that she does not know the date of the Warning, only its calendar year. She admits that she does not know how much time will elapse between the two events. She says that she does not know if the Miracle occurs in the same calendar year as the Warning, or not. Therefore, she does not know the date of the Miracle. She has never said that the Virgin Mary specifically said “within 12 months,” and she does not seem to remember the exact wording of what was said on this point. Therefore, it is clear that Mari-Loli does not know that the Miracle will occur within 12 calendar months from the Warning.
Also, notice that the dates for the Warning and the Miracle are separated by 12 months. The Warning occurs in a particular month, then there are 12 consecutive months that do not contain the Warning or the Miracle, and then there is the month which does contain the Miracle. Mari-Loli could easily have misunderstood being told that these two events are separated by 12 months, as if they would occur within 12 months. Or perhaps she was told that the Miracle will occur the following calendar year, and she misunderstood this as if it was within a year.
Now let's look at the dates and times of the Warning and the Miracle. These two events occur exactly one year and 33 days apart. The number 33 refers to the number of years in Christ's life at His Crucifixion. Since the Warning is the first secret of Medjugorje, it will be announced by the priest chosen to announce it, Fr. Petar, three days beforehand, on April 7th. The actual date of the Crucifixion of Jesus Christ in the first century A.D. was April 7th. In the liturgical calendar, the Warning (the Day of Repentance; the first secret) occurs on Good Friday, April 10th, when we remember the Crucifixion. The subsequent Day of Consolation (the second secret) occurs on Easter Sunday, April 12th. And the Miracle (the third secret) occurs on Ascension Thursday of the next calendar year, on May 13th. So the dates for these three events (the first three secrets), which include the Warning and the Miracle, fit perfectly with the liturgical calendar. This makes sense because God, in performing these miraculous and unprecedented worldwide acts, wants everyone to know that the Catholic Faith is above all other religions. So he conforms these events to the liturgical calendar of the Catholic Church.
Interestingly, the dates for Good Friday and Easter Sunday in the Orthodox liturgical calendar do not coincide with Good Friday and Easter Sunday in the Catholic liturgical calendar in the year 2009, when the Warning (first secret) and the second secret occur. But the date of the Miracle (third secret) in the next year, 2010, is Ascension Thursday in both the Catholic and Orthodox calendars.
I. that the tribulation will begin before the Warning
Not so. The tribulation certainly begins after both the Warning and the Miracle have occurred, because the purpose of those events is to strengthen and bless the people of God before the tribulation. So, it is not true that there will be some kind of major war, or major worldwide disaster, or other aspects of the tribulation, before the Warning and the Miracle have occurred. This was a misunderstanding by the visionaries of Garabandal; these things occur, but afterward, not before.
J. that the Church will seem to have nearly disappeared, and that priests will find it very difficult to say Mass, before the Warning
Not so. Again, these are aspects of the tribulation, which will occur only after the Miracle. The Church will not disappear; however, during the first part of the tribulation, in the area of the world invaded and occupied by the Arab/Muslim extremists, the Church in its externals, and the Mass, will not be permitted; Christian worship will not be permitted; Christianity and the Church will be persecuted. Priests in that area of the world (which includes Europe) will only be able to say Mass in secret and occasionally. Again, the visionaries of Garabandal confused the timing of when these things would occur, but what they said on these particular points was otherwise correct.

{24:6} For you will hear of battles and rumors of battles. Take care not to be disturbed. For these things must be, but the end is not so soon.
{24:7} For nation will rise against nation, and kingdom against kingdom. And there will be pestilences, and famines, and earthquakes in places.

Take heart, little children, and be careful not to be deceived. For the words of Jesus Christ are certainly true, no matter what anyone else may say, that these things are just the beginning of the sorrows and that the end is not so soon.
